My LEGO display of part of the Battle of Hoth, which was displayed as part of the Brick.ie display at Kildare County Show in Athy, Ireland on 18 June 2017.

The rebel base and power generator are my own design. The AT-ATs are designed by raskolnikov (one built by davenocheese). The snowspeeders are based on brickdoctor's design.

So this is my base to marek's base contest! So this is in kashyyyk a few weeks before order 66, when they discover a small post from the clone wars when a giant transport leaves a squadron of droids attack them...

Dodworth Miners (orange and black) move the ball away from a scrum, at Quarry Lane, during the second half of a 20-18 defeat of Division Three rivals Upton in a closely-contested quarter-final of amateur rugby league's Yorkshire League Trophy. The visiting Miners had a player sent off in the 53rd minute, when they led 8-6, but managed to hang on for a memorable - if nerve-jangling - victory. Note the evidence of previous quarrying at the site.

For something as simply as a base, I may have overdone it… Hopefully an indication of the awesome that will be my first steam train.

Dungeness, Kent is a notable example of a cuspate foreland, created by constructive waves bringing together shingle from two different directions to form a triangular shaped promontory of shingle that goes a few miles into the English Channel.

Dungeness has long been a hazard to shipping and as early as 1615 a light was displayed here, but by the 1630s such was the accumulation of shingle that a new lighthouse tower was constructed closer to the sea.

Then in the late 18thCentury the accumulated shingle had again left the lighthouse far from the sea and a new lighthouse was constructed which came into use in 1792. The new lighthouse was 35metres high and was of the same design as Smeaton's lighthouse (1759) on Eddystone Rock, Lighthouse keepers accommodation was built as a circular building around the base of the lighthouse. From 1862 this was the first lighthouse to be powered by electric arc lamps, at the time this was cutting edge technology and proved to be too expensive, so in 1875 the lamp reverted back to oil.

In 1904 a new taller (46 metres) lighthouse opened and the 1792 lighthouse was demolished except for the circular building around the case which was retained as accommodation for the lighthouse keepers.

Then next in the long history of lighthouses on Dungeness came a new Nuclear Power Station being built in the 1950's, it was realised that the height of the power station would obscure the view of the lighthouse from certain area of the sea. A new lighthouse was built 1959-61 from pre-stressed concrete which removed the need for tapered sides to the lighthouse this new lighthouse also incorporated an electric foghorn. In 1991 the lighthouse became automated. Currently the lighthouse has a range of 21 nautical miles.

The old (1904) lighthouse is open as a tourist attraction in the summer months.

Best guess, based on the stamped date, and activity going on at such time (per the "Saturn Illustrated Chronology"): S-IB-10 undergoing acceptance testing. If so, it would later - MUCH later - loft ASTP. Even if wrong, a really neat photo, whatever it is.

Note also the F-1 engine tankage in the right-hand cell.

For additional confusion (as far as conclusive identification), albeit really neat:

From a “Brief Chronology of Facilities Buildup Relating to History of Marshall Space Flight Center (Early 1950s through 1990)” - a synopsis of the tower:

“1951: The Static Test Tower (Facility Number 4572) was constructed. It was initially used to conduct 487 tests involving the Army’s Jupiter missile. It contained two test positions, and because of its appearance was sometimes called the “T-Tower. It was designed to test rocket systems with a maximum thrust of 500,000 lb. In 1961, the test stand was modified to permit static firing of the Saturn I and Saturn IB stages, which produced a total thrust of 1.6 million pounds. The name of the stand was then changed to the S-IB Static Test Stand and it has also been referred to as the Propulsion and Structural Test Facility. The west side of the stand was used to test the S-I stage. The east side was used to the test the S-IB stage. A total of 24 tests were performed on 10 S-I stages while 32 tests were performed on 12 S-IB stages. The west side was also used to test the F-1 engine; 75 F-1 engine tests were performed through July 1968. In 1984, the west side of the test stand was again modified to permit structural tests on the Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster. Since its original construction and activation in 1951, a total of 649 tests have been conducted at the facility. The 140-foot high facility was selected as a National Historic Landmark because it was the first test stand to fire rocket engines in a cluster. The name of the facility was later changed to the Hazardous Structural Test Complex.

Chief Constable Stephen Watson formally opened our new Tactical Aid Unit (TAU) base in Leigh on Friday 3 February 2023.

Part of TAU has been relocated to provide a better public service in the north and west of the force area, with officers stationed there to allow increased visibility as well as improving the response to crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

Mr. Watson attended the launch with senior GMP and TAU officers, and MPs James Grundy and Yvonne Fovargue.

Mr. Watson said: “Being able to respond to incidents and emergencies as effectively as we can is at the very heart of GMP.

“Having the TAU based in the north of the force area means we can better serve our communities and keep people safe.

“Operations and critical incidents are the bread and butter of the TAU. They are the team with the specialist skills and knowledge that can support our people and keep them safe.

“This move also shows the commitment we have to ensuring GMP is a force that is attractive to officers from other areas who may be looking for a move.

"It is my absolute pleasure to open this base in Leigh which will allow us more effectively to fight, prevent, and reduce crime.”

TAU carries out high-profile disruption and enforcement, targeting serious, organised, and high-impact crime. The team have specialist skills and are deployed wherever they are needed most, including dealing with public order, tackling organised crime, managing large events, and providing specialist search capabilities.

Chief Superintendent Emily Higham, GMP's Wigan District Commander, said: "TAU are specialist officers who can support Wigan and Leigh with search warrants, trouble hotspots and public disorder.

"They will also be visible in the area and their geographical location which means they will be able to respond more quickly to incidents and support our local officers. I am delighted they have moved into the borough."

You should call 101, the national non-emergency number, to report crime and other concerns that do not require an emergency response.

Always call 999 in an emergency, such as when a crime is in progress, violence is being used or threatened or where there is danger to life.

You can also call anonymously with information about crime to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Crimestoppers is an independent charity who will not want your name, just your information. Your call will not be traced or recorded and you do not have to go to court or give a statement.
