used to be a real dive bar. Now a very nice bar and restaurant. Even shushi night. The transistion of NL is complete. My new hangout.
This friendly little place in the Jardin Plaza shopping mall is a home away from home. As soon as the sun sets it is cool and the drinks are first rate.
The ornate iron and stained glass bar entrance of the former Grove Hotel, Buxton - closed since 2017. 21st January 2020.
Found near John's Cove, this old sofa was well beyond any hope of affordable reupholstering. How it came to be missing a large chunk of its stuffing is a mystery. Birds will sometimes seek out fluffy material for nest building, Judging by its condition, this thing has been out in the weather for quite some time. Whatever took the huge "bite" out of it has a large supply of stuffing still available.
Although my photos might give the impression that Yarmouth Bar is a horrible debris and rubbish strewn area, it's really not the case. It has some fairly "untidy" areas that are full of photographically "interesting" subjects.

Recipe to follow...you can make these as bars or drop cookies, your choice.
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup raw sugar
1/4 cup tofu
1/4 cup crushed peanuts
Mix everything together - drop by spoon fulls opn parchment lined cookie sheet or spread in a parchment lined pan. Dust with cocoa nibs. Bake 20-30 minutes at 350 F. Try adding chocolate chips instead of peanuts if you like.

I realized yesterday that I can mix my favorite drink at most bars. At home I mix fruit juices 50/50 with sparkling water, and bars have soda water on tap - and juice. The bartender called it a "grapefruit spritzer" - I like the sound of that.
...the same creeper technique at some place called Brinks Lounge on East Washington. The reflections are great and would be even better if I had brought my regular 18-250 lense.
