What a bake sale! Inter-House rivalry, effort and House spirit was on show at the bake sale held by our four Houses on Thursday 19th October. It was an incredible sight to see: cinnamon rolls to cupcakes to donuts to personalised house-glazed cakes to the students behind the desks singing their hearts out for their House. Thank you to all of the students who took part - you all did your Houses proud. A tremendous 11,898.50 LE was raised.
I'm on a baking spree which means that I shall bake and bake for days and produce so much food that family and friends will stop answering my phone calls since they are getting fat from all the food I'm bringing over.

I baked oatcakes tonight. It was my first time using the recipe, and they were more crumbly than I had expected. When I turned the round pan over to extract it, the oatcake broke into several pieces. Still really tasty though!

I was invited to a rib barbeque challenge as a judge. Don't get too excited--my friend had challenged her dad, and they invited a bunch of people to be judges. When I'm called to judge Iron Chef, I'll let you know WAY ahead of time. We were asked to bring a side dish or a dessert to the challenge. I've never really made cupcakes before, and I figured it'd be an easy way to make a large amount of dessert for a large crowd. I searched for a lot of fun cupcake recipes, and these were the winners.
The earl gray cupcakes are quite notable because they have loose tea as part of the ingredient list. Yes, straight up loose tea is incorporated into the batter. If you like earl gray, you should make these cupcakes.
