...at least, I assume this display's time was between the other two! Obviously, it has the current logo, but I have to imagine it has been at this store since its opening, so I'd place it in the middle. This store, by the way, is a Publix in Lexington, SC. Toldja I had more from there! More random uploads from there are scheduled for another Tuesday, as well as a full store tour on an upcoming Saturday. This Saturday will be more of a mish-mash of America-related photos, in honor of Independence Day.

I also feel the need to say that, unlike Betty Crocker, Little Debbie is real. Inadvertently, anyway. Remember, this was back in the day before photographical consent laws or anything... but then again, wasn't it the time of manners, i.e. asking for permission?

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

I don't bake cakes often, but when I do, I take photos of the stage 1 :)

Buns before baking. The towel is from GreenGate.

My good wife uses these little measuring tools when baking. The differing cup sizes give her the correct weights and size of baking powder and other essential ingredients for whatever she is baking!

Loads of fruit coming from our pear and plum trees in the backyard. Have had to do some serious canning and baking. Even still we have bags of fruit.

Delicious! You know you want 'em.

The Schulze Baking Company has been vacant for almost 11 years, this terra cotta building will finally be used again as a data center.

Baked lentil and vegetables with feta cheese

starting to flex my baking muscles again = my first loaf of bread! a simple white bread, it emerged with a great crust, chewy interior, and a wee bit of sweetness offered by the corn meal i dusted it with pre-bake.

Blueberry jam and lime and cheese fillings.

Martha Stewart recipe.

Used plain flour instead of recommended cake flour.

Interesting point: No baking powder used.

Used 3 egg plus 1 egg yolk instead of 2.

Skipped butter and used pure olive oil instead.

Needless to say the lime and cheese roll turned out yummier.

I went to Cafe Gitane in the West Village for brunch a few weeks ago with my parents. The restaurant is located inside the Jane Hotel and faces the Hudson River. It is a really cute place; very French bistro-like.

I ordered the baked eggs (medium) with sausage and it was delicious. I love good food. And I LOVE brunch. Best meal of the day.

Jean baked Irish soda bread today, it came out really good.

The gentleman tells me that dipping the semi-molten glass into a solution of baking soda creates the bubbles in the glass.

Or fineness and roughness.

While reading my morning paper, I came across an advertisement that 1) The Goodman Studio has a glass blowing demo today; 2) there is an annual sale happening; and 3) the handmade-in-Toronto glassmaking studio is only 15 minutes away from my home in an industrial area.

The Goodman Studio doesn't sell direct to the public and the workshop isn't open to the public normally, so I grabbed my camera to have a look.
