I bought a pie tin from the Sur La Table at the Ferry Building and wanted to give making a fruit tart a shot. Fruit tarts remind me of Sunday brunches back in KL, a la the Delifrance close to our home. They were of the mini-pie variety and I could never seem to eat one without making a complete mess of butter and crumbs, but what a yummy mess. There are three main components to this dessert, the pie shell / crust, the custardy pastry filing and the glazed fruit topping. I was hellbent on making all three. Unfortunately, the process wasn't as well documented because the batteries on my camera ran out, but I captured the highlights (i.e. the finished product).
Ma decided to bake bread today and made biscuits, loaf breads and other rolls right out of the oven.1:6 scale
My Easy-Bake Oven was a present from my cousin Santanna. I LOVE IT. I even love using the big oven with my big sister Mary.
Baked in Jack's Dutch oven in our household's fire pit. It was even fantastic the next morning with fresh, warm rhubarb compote.

I'm preparing for a major baking episode this weekend. Well, starting on Thursday.
I also completely forgot to take the previous days picture, so I'm just going to add on a day.
Cooked all these late saturday night...Finished 1am sunday morning. Nothing like a bit of midnight baking after a long busy day! :S
I love pistachios and figured it would be interesting to get them inside my baked goods, so I went looking for an interesting recipe. I enjoyed these cookies, though they do spread quite a bit. I think I'm not a huge fan of white chocolate so maybe I'd try these with dark chocolate or even cacao nibs.
