this is one of my favs.......the baking twine..... how pretty!

made this for lunch, sprinkled spices on fish, topped with parmasen cheese and added slices of lemon. baked in oven at 350 degrees, for 25 minutes. the lemon was kinda strong for my taste.

I also made another Chocolate Malteser cake as a birthday cake for me, since we enjoyed the last one so much. This time I had the right sized cake tins (I can't believe how expensive they were - £9 each from John Lewis). As you can see the cake turned out much better this time. Sorry about the picture quality though - my flash on the small camera doesn't seem to want to light it properly.

Only differences: baked on parchment paper (which catches the drips of the egg glaze!) instead of in muffin tins; sprinkled with Swedish "Pearl Sugar" (doesn't melt or discolor during baking) after the glaze has been brushed on.

Was there ever a cat that didn't like to bake in the sun? I just don't get it. If I were covered in fur like this I'd be looking for an air conditioner. But this is Howie's favorite place to be.

Bake until you think it's ready-- you want a nice crispy golden exterior and hot melty cheese inside. I did 30 minutes at 325, because 325 is about all my oven will do.

The oven was on... so why not make three dozen gingerbread, a dozen buns - to be made into "fairy cakes", four individual apple sponges to be served with custard, bread buns and a cheese loaf! - which is, by the way, yummy!
