Yoga bag for my friend Stephanie. Amy butler Nigella yoga bag (free pattern), Valori Wells home dec fabrics. Since I can't ever follow a pattern without modifying it, I added a zipper to the pocket, and made the bag longer and wider to accommodate a thicker and wider yoga mat.

my dad bought one of these bags for each of my siblings and me. he got them at a US army surplus store, around 1970. through the years, i have used it for many things... a lunch bag for hikes, a camera bag, a CD bag, etc.

Another Jane Market Bag from the pattern by Alicia Paulson. Made in Essex Cotton Linen & a cotton linen dot print with handles in Joel Dewberry's Herringbone fabric in grass. Made a few changes to the pattern, used interfacing on interior & exterior & added seams to bottom of bag (to enclose each pocket so things did not get lost) & another seam close to the top edge.
birthday present for a 5 year old - craft bag, made from pink duck cloth & random rainbow fabric. pencil pockets one one side, 2 large pockets on the other. gave it filled with arts & crafts supplies.
I picked up this delicious wool yarn by Debbie Bliss while at Stitches last weekend. Its called SoHo and is in vibrant colors of purple, pink and a nice varigated mix. The yarn is a thick/thin weight between worsted and heavy worsted. I love it... by far my favorite yarn to have my hands in so far!
I've just cast on the bottom yesterday. I'm a bit under the weather at the moment so I'm getting more "sit still" time that usual, so I've used that to knit a good bit. I think this method of building a circle is just too cool!

Roundbottomed bag made from my new Martini-fabric and the blue corduroy, I brought from Stockholm. Not too big, but spaciuos enough for everyday use. Lined with grey cotton and closed with a magnetic snap.
I have trouble with pleats. But I am working on it. Other people get theirs straight and even and perfect - mine always live a life of their own...!
I love this bag, even if the size/lack of closure make it a little impractical. And this fabric is very forgiving. You can't even see the stitches.
