I just finished making my latest bag creation. I used some funky material designed by Marimekko, and some upcycled jeans. To see more pictures or read about details on how this bag came to be go to: www.gaijincreations.blogspot.com

BEZET#05 (May 1999)

Made out of 9 different retro print cotton fabrics. I use it for a knitting bag.

the other side has a zipper pocket from uhandbag's tutorial. i did a fairly crappy job. i also added a magnetic snap. i didn't reverse the handle fabric b/c i didn't like how it looked. i used maroon twill instead of canvas. i love how this bag.

I wanted cloth grocery bags that weren't branded to a specific store & were cute so I made this one this weekend. The fabric is a heavy cotton from Ikea. The bottom of the bag is flat & reinforced with a stiff plastic liner.

Adorable Cosmetic Bag set. The Larger one is great to put your cosmetics in and the smaller one is perfect for lipsticks and lip glosses. A ribbon strap can be added to the larger one for a small really cute shoulder bag. The interior is done in a solid hot pink and they each have a snap closer.

Made as a gift for my Mum for Mother's Day 2009. All the fabric was thrifted - the print was just 25 pence for a huge piece (from a jumble sale). Thankfully, Mum loved it.

Chelmsford Boxing Club Monday training night. Vivitar 285hv flashgun resting on the floor pointing upwards at the fighter wireless trigger. I was sitting on the floor shooting up on a wide angle 24mm. I added a bit of grain during processing as it seemed to fit the gritty image.

My old Crumpler bag now the property of some nice Korean gentleman in Hamilton, New Zealand after I sold it on www.trademe.co.nz back in November 2007. This was one of the shots I took (and edited in Lightroom) to sell it.

This crumpler called "Very Busy Man" this biege and orange monster carried much of my life around for two years. It has now been replaced by a swanky new sexy black one called "A Considerable Embarassment"

This bag is nice. It is Crumpler's Western Lawn with the Photo Bucket inserted. What I like most about this bag is the Photo Bucket slips out and my photo bag become a sporty man purse.

My grandmother's friend saved this sweater from the Salvation Army dumpster. It is now another felted bag for my brother's girl friend with a bunch of cool details as shown in the next picture

A photographer friend of mine wanted a new bag she could use as well as purse as as professionnal bag. It had to be super handy but yet pretty (and girly).

I based the design and shape on my own messenger bag tutorial [http://madebynight.blogspot.com/2010/09/le-tuto-de-la-besace-fronceetutorial.html] but added a zippered closing and many zippered pockets inside and outside (for her cell phone, pens, SDcards, batteries, keys.... The strap legnth can be adjusted by a knot. To turn it into a photographer's bag, all she has to do is insert the matching padded 'fabric bin' with her camera and lenses.

As for the fabrics, the girly side comes from that Mitsy Liberty of London print and the steadyness comes from that beautiful jeans printed linen. The lace comes from a second hand store.

More pictures can be seen on my blog [http://madebynight.blogspot.com/2011/09/du-mitsy-pour-mamzellejoe_16.html] (I must confess it wasn't easy to pick just 3 as the purse has so many details...

What can you make with old jeans, a little lace and satin, and a damaged clutch purse? Why, it's a new tote bag!
