Grab your drawstring and lay it on your bag. You want it to measure twice the width of your bag plus 2-4″ extra at the ends. This is 1 cord. Cut 1 more the same length.
A very practical clutch made using fabric from Michael Miller, Andalucia. Featuring internal pocket and closes with a magnetic clasp. Made using a Keyka Lou pattern.
Strip pieced flap with Madeline print as last strip. Fussy cut Madeline print for top of strap, Maeve on the underside.
The bag measures at 35cm wide by 48cm tall, with straps. A 100% cotton outside back pack/cinch sack and black cordura inside. There is one large main compartment and a inner pocket with a magnit. A great bag for carrying your sport shoose, school books or anything you need for a day at the beach. Just the right size for your laptop 15"6 too!

Made with a salvaged wool fabric remnant, a salvaged upholstery sample, a vintage pillowcase, a salvaged flannelette remnant, and vintage buttons.
Yoga bag for my friend Stephanie. Amy butler Nigella yoga bag (free pattern), Valori Wells home dec fabrics. Since I can't ever follow a pattern without modifying it, I added a zipper to the pocket, and made the bag longer and wider to accommodate a thicker and wider yoga mat.
This bag was made from a brightly patterned fine needle cord. It had been lined with 100% cotton and reinforced with medium weight interfacing.
I love this floral and it was the last little bit I had from a decorator sample. The houndstooth at the top was a decorator sample as well, they are great for little projects like this, as most are around 22" square.

I love this bag, even if the size/lack of closure make it a little impractical. And this fabric is very forgiving. You can't even see the stitches.

Custom commissioned tarot bag. Purple and blue batik on cotton, backed with brown corduroy. Embroidered with cotton and hand beaded custom design.
Another Jane Market Bag from the pattern by Alicia Paulson. Made in Essex Cotton Linen & a cotton linen dot print with handles in Joel Dewberry's Herringbone fabric in grass. Made a few changes to the pattern, used interfacing on interior & exterior & added seams to bottom of bag (to enclose each pocket so things did not get lost) & another seam close to the top edge.
