So, ladies, I need some honest opinions on this - and I know it won't be to everyone's taste. But I'd love some feedback!

After taking out I don't know how many rusted staples, the jute webbing is now visible. The springs are de-compressed causing some of the tacks holding the webbing to the frame to pull out.

Now that the feed bags are off, I can see that there were at least two previous seat dust covers under the settee based on the remnants of fabric and tacks left behind.

And in case you're wondering, the bags originally held 100 lbs of chicken feed before they were used on the chairs. The bag on the left has a 1948 copyright date printed on it. This provides me with some idea of when the settee was last re-upholstered.

Made this simple bag to carry my cutting mat and ruler to quilt classes. Fabric was from the stash.

I was reading by myself on a solitary spot on the beach when Frank walked by with a bag full of mangoes. He stopped to chat and offered me a couple mangoes, which he'd picked and many of which had worms. Then Rachel came and Frank asked us if we wanted coconuts. Sure, we said. Next thing I know, Frank's 35' up a palm tree throwing down three mammoth gourds. Then there was a labored process of smashing the gourds on the rocks to break the outer shell, then pulling off the hairs to get to the inner shell, and then cracking the inner shell to get to the sweet fleshy white innards.

It was about this time Frank's friend Wembley (about 52% sure that's his name, even though I'd spent about 20 minutes talking with him the day before after he bought us each a beer, and even though I heard him say it three times) then came by to show Frank the respective 1 and 1/2 oz bags he'd just picked up. Frank left to go get some matches, and Rachel and I went to go watch the Liverpool-Chelsea match (or more accurately, so that Rachel could accompany me while I watched the game).

My new bag from Crumpler. Not sure whether it's big enough yet.. why did I get extra small?!?

It's quite lovely though, as all Crumpler bags are.

My oldest daughter, Jenn, liked my first Cosmo Bag so much that I wound up giving it to her. It gave me an excuse to buy more fabric and make another one!

The pattern is from Amy Butler's book, Style Stitches. The fabric is Annette Tatum's line from Free Spirit, Boho.
