Bagger 258 is a bucket wheel excavator, or "schaufelradbagger," built by the heavy machinery company Lauchhammer. First put to use in East Germany in 1964, Bagger 258 was one of a series of such machines whose task was to assist in intensive mining operations.
This motorised excavator featured a total of 10 blades, cutting to a depth of 15m into the earth as it removed spoil from the layers of coal beneath. The buckets, each designed with a capacity of roughly 1,500m³, would also collect a thin layer of coal during the process. This was sifted mechanically and diverted to feed the machine's coal-burning engines.
With a length of 171.5m and reaching a height of 50m, the 3850-tonne Bagger 258 rather resembles a factory; although this factory was mounted onto tank-like tracks and able to move at a speed of six metres per minute. Bagger 258 was abandoned in 2002, for no better reason than that it had simply run out of things to dig. By this point the behemoth was showing its age, and the cost of dismantling it wasn't justified by the tired mechanisms on offer. Instead the area around Bagger 258 was replanted, and redeveloped as a solar park.
These days, Bagger 258 stands desolate in a field in Germany. Its blue paint job - now chipped and fading - had once earned it the nickname, "Blue Wonder."

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

Our bags missed the flight from FRA / PRG. This amenity kit bag is what I call APOLOGY BAG as there's a card inside apologizing the missing bag.
A drawstring pouch combining crocheting, knitting and cotton print fabric.
This bag has a feline theme. When making the bag I was thinking about the homes with cats. Is it something about cat owners or are they the cats that make them so comfortable!
Height from the center point of the bottom to the top edge: appr. 12 inch (30,5 cm) Circumference: appr. 12 inch (30 cm)
The bottom of the bag is crocheted from finnish and estonian wool.
The middle part is knitted from estonian wool. I have also used some furry yarns in border stitches.
The top is sewn from cotton fabrics.
The string is knitted i-cord.

Based on a design by Thom Isom, a 17-year-old arts student from Ormskirk, the bags are made from such discarded items as old date labels, newspapers and magazines, gig posters and minutes of meetings.
As well as having a cool design, the bags are large and sturdy enough to hold several books, CDs and DVDs.

Bagging plants of Conospermum hookeri (Tasmanian Smokebush) for seed collection in Doctors Peak Forest Reserve, northeast Tasmania.
Conospermum hookeri is a threatened Tasmanian endemic. It is listed as Vulnerable at both the State and Federal level. Bagging as a collecting technique for Conospermum was trialled last year as part of federal funded project to collect Phytophthora vulnerable threatened species. The technique proved to be very effective and so we are repeating the process with additional provenances.

This was taken the moment after striking the bag. I connected with my lower shin and my leg is on the way back.
Our gym doesn't have mirrors so this was one of the first times I ever saw what I looked like while doing Muay Thai. Right away I noticed that my left arm should be held closer to my body. As it is, it helps turn my body around, but it's not good form and it's leaving me more open than I want to be.
Everything else looks pretty good. My body is turned around. My heel is forward and I'm on my toes. My right shoulder is close to my chin and my right arm is pulled back Muay Thai-style.
I'm really glad I finally brought in my camera.
This is the fabric combination I used for a tote bag I made my auntie. Unfortunately, she will have to send me a picture because for some strange reason, I forgot to take one before I gave it to her on Sunday. The final size was 15 x 15, not including straps. Note - the paisley fabric is actually much brighter than this so when I get a chance I'll put out a better picture.
This bag has a main front and back section of approx. 15 x 11 in the paisley fabric, with the top part piece approx. 15 x 4 in the green. There are two pockets, 8 x 6 before sewing them, straps, tab and button all in the paisley. The lining is in green. This has a box bottom as well. Sure wish I could actually show it to you, it's really cute!
