The finished bag. I made the bias and used Pellon craft fuse on the body and handles. Materials from Funky Fabrix and Lincraft.

This is the second bag I made with this design. The first was in different colors, and was made as a gift for a friend.
This bag can be dressed up or down, which is great. I chose a denim home decor fabric and some quilting cotton fabric for the contrasted corners and loops. I topstitched in a gold metallic thread using a flower decorative stitch. A vintage butterfly brooch adorns the side profile.
It came with three "medium utility boxes".
This is actually a "women's tackle bag", found in the fishing section of Walmart for under $30, but it fit my need perfectly. For more than a year, I've been looking for a camera bag to meet the following requirements: (1) hold 60D with battery grip and lens, plus another lens and flash, (2) light in color, and (3) not expensive.
(You don't have to live long in a hot climate to realize black camera bags are a bad idea.)

I have made a bag or two before! This one made me happy because I got to use AMH 'Garden Party'. I also got to use a solid I love but never knew what would go with it! Its such a unique color. However...it matches perfectly with one of the flowers in the garden party fabric! Yeah! The drag is the picture really doesn't match the true color of the solid. Boo! It was a fun bag to make. I added a pocket on one side for keys, phone and chapstick! This is the tutorial I used

This bag is made from Amy Butler's downtown purse pattern. The material is from 2 napkins that I fell in love with at Crate & Barrel. I embroidered the leaf chain on the flap with green and tan variegated thread to coordinate w/the bird and to counter-balance the busier purse fabric.
I made pouches to coordinate with some of the recent tote bags I made with my easy tote bag tutorial.

In the spring, I made myself a bag from acrylic coated linen (and so it is more or less waterproof and therefore a popular one to use in wintertime!). It had photo transfers on it... they did not survive a trip to the washing machine. I took them off, and the bag was very plain indeed (bottom right). Only highlight was the Fassett-fabric inside... but no way was that enough.
So I added the most christmassy fabric, I have, as a front - Alexander Henry's map to Snowflake Lodge. And a bit of Amy Butler lacy print, a few ribbons in red and green - on the back the small Babushkas.
And suddenly - I have a new, colourful bag to wear all December! :-) Messy, funny, colorful and just what I needed to spice up the grey day.

April 09 - Another Buttercup Bag - I could make a million of these (and just might). Used leftover bits from other projects (with plenty of scraps still to spare).

“Bagged products” is little better than “cookery.” I’m gonna bet that no customer has ever asked the sales people for “bagged products,” that nobody’s ever checked the yellow pages for “bagged products,” and without context, nobody would come close to answering a question on what the heck “bagged products” are all about.
A drawstring pouch combining crocheting, knitting and cotton print fabric.
This bag is inspired by my childhood and all those books I used to read. Especially Emily of New Moon! I wore a deep blue skirt, my very favorite, walked to the library and wondered if anybody else could feel as intensely as me and my distant soulmate Emily!
Height from the center point of the bottom to the top edge: appr. 14 inch (35 cm) Circumference: appr. 17 inch (43 cm)
The bottom of the bag is crocheted from estonian wool.
The middle part is knitted from estonian wool. Small crocheted circles and hand stitches have been added as a finishing touch.
The top is sewn from cotton fabrics.
The string is knitted i-cord.
Really wanting to make ultra fluffy faux fur ones. but need to get my pattern right first....think we'll go just a little larger....
