Much better than a peeping tom, this tom turkey was caught strolling across the backyard in a light, early springtime snowfall pretty much like he owned the place, which of course he does. We share the acreage at the homestead here with all sorts of creatures because, after all, they were here long before we came along. We are the invaders, the last ones in (so far), and maybe even the interlopers, depending on your point of view.
Turkeys, toms and hens, are frequent passersby on the backyard property and, usually, they come in a flock of 7-10 birds who live and roost in local trees just up the lane. They generally squawk to announce their arrival, lest they sneak up on something that would rather not be interrupted. Very thoughtful neighbors, the birds. Among the best actually, although it is certainly a close competition.
Most of the time I stay at home and I will find any possible subject like this little flowers in my backyard.
I try converting it to B&W and I like B&W.
Your comments are much appreciated.
Not sure what type of hawk this is but he was just hanging out in our backyard the other day. It is poor quality pic b/c I took it through the back door and the screen b/c I did not want to scare him off.
The colors and lines of nature .... amaze me on a daily basis....these are cana lilies from our backyard....shot from above on a sunny afternoon.....
Not real backyard. The fence was along the road to the Izvorul Muntelui Lake close to Bicaz, Romania
I've usually had about 4 squirrels that regularly visit my backyard bird feeders (and torment my dog Barney) but they've been very scarce this summer. This spring I had a hawk that had made my yard his territory and I'm wondering if perhaps they became a meal for him.

The Grackles seemed even more agitated today than usual after the rain stopped. All that posturing made for some tense moments at the Goodie Bowl, even though the contents had to be a little soggy.
All that drama also made for some interesting bird watching and made me grab my camera, too.

Die Süßkirschen blühen schon bei uns. Das ist sehr früh.
Ich hoffe, dass es euch allen gut geht und drücke die Daumen, dass es so bleibt. Die Nachrichten machen mir Angst.

The sweet cherries are already blooming with us. This is very early.
I hope that all of you are well and keep my fingers crossed that it will stay in that way. The news makes me fear.

I'll be back to my garden shots shortly, but my husband found this little frog living in out back and I finally got close enough to get a picture!
Very large eagle feasting on a rabbit, or what's left of a rabbit, on a tornado damaged pine tree in our backyard.
From last autumn; my point-and-shoot's in the shop, so having to dig deep to keep the stream alive! Maybe something soon from my dusty Canon 35mm SLR, depending on when I can get off the island to get film (yes) developed.
I had so much fun this morning watching birds and animals all together in my backyard! I hung a bird feeder on the tree, now there is a buffet not only for birds, but also for different animals such as rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks :)
