all materials used to sew it were second hand and even though the yellow material is not easy to photograph and pictures are a bit crappy, the backpack is absolutely GREAT! there are some tips on sewing sth similar here:

I made this for a birthday gift then found out that the girl was much younger then we thought. Drawstrings and a 2 year old don't mix in my eyes. So I made the small tote to send her way. I guess I could sell the other one.

I think I'm going to retire my backpack that I've been using since senior year of high school (2000-2001). It's just filthy now. I love it so much though, and I don't want to retire it, but its just getting nasty.
