I just love the shimmer that comes of backlighting. That sort of veil of golden light. I'm hoping I'll get to practice those types of shots a lot during the coming year, it's just something that I've admired in other photographers' work but I haven't done it much myself. But live, learn and grow is the motto, right? :)
This is actually a really simple shot, but there was just something that I loved about it.

Technical challenge, my first attempt at mini-figures. I have so much respect for all tabletop photographers, it's a tricky business. Respectfully dedicated to Dr Helen Sharman... MIR space station 1991.

With the light behind, you can't see what's in front of it. The sun creates the illusion that light keeps us safe, that there's no darkness. That's never true.

the low winter sun was enhancing a lovely arrangement of clematis seed heads.

Picture for the "Crazy tuesdays" group with the theme "Backlight". Il actually shows a part of the leave of one of my trees in my front garden. I took it indoor and lit it only at the back, so that the light shined through it.
