Anyway, had much fun while trying to focus correctly and find a reasonably working pose :)
I used texture in my photo to create a sense of unity and balance with the implied line down the middle of the picture. I also used the sunlight shining through the leaves to create backlight, which also creates unity within the light and color.
I first just took pictures of the plant in the front, but then switched to taking them from under the plant to get the backlight from the sun and bring out more of the texture of the plant. When editing I made the texture more prominent and created more contrast between the leaves and the sunlight.
I think that I got a good angle of the leaves so that the sunlight brings out the texture. I think I did a nice job of getting the leaves to create implied line with the angle, which creates balance. I think I also did a good job of making the texture and backlight stand out when editing.
I think that I could have improved the implied line and make the balance more prominent. I also could have done a better job of making sure the leaves were in focus so the texture was more obvious.

A spontaneous "grab shot" I took while having lunch. This kid kept running back and forth, practically inviting me to put down my burger and pick up my camera.
This is a test image for the Fireman image. I used a single SB-800 with a CTO gel fired through a fog machine directly into the back of the subject.
