The light was perfect and did its magic on these delicate, delightful hydrangea flowers. There are hints of Autumn here but the bloom is still subtle pink tinged with green. The bokeh gives it the elegance this flower deserves.
I saw this Pearl crescent butterfly along the trail at the Springfield Nature Center. The wings in direct backllght become colorfully translucent. The Wingstem blossom (Verbesina alternifolia) looks very nice in this light as well. That day's walk was full of exciting finds although the bright sun didn't always produce shots like this.
