Moel Findeg is the summit in the background. This is one of the few places in Wales that boasts a limestone pavement.
Me and Andy got bored, so we decided to post this as Andrew's background while he is in SLC for the night.

I realize this is late, but I would love feedback about it. I took these last week but we left on Thursday on vacation and I'm just now catching up on things.
I chose this one because of the details of the assignment... vertical, not a headshot, and hopefully conveying something about the subject in the photo. Assuming this would run next to an article or somesuch, I didn't feel it necessary to blatantly state something about the subject, but merely hint at it. In this case, the background is Rice University, and the context of the photo in the publication would link the background to the context. At least, that was my thinking. :)
Lighting details: primary light is a Canon 420EX shot through an umbrella, above the subject and to her left. Secondary light is a 550EX on camera, ratioed way down so that it's filling a little and mostly triggering the 420. The sun is obviously illuminating the background and her hair, but ambient light alone would have left her very dark... most of the foreground light is from the two strobes.

Well, spent a few hours copying and pasting photos together to create backgrounds for Tol Galen today.
I have 2 monitors, so using a single photo didn't scale well so I created a set of 9 backgrounds (one for each virtual desktop) by copying and pasting image 2 images together with correct proportions so that there's one on each monitor.
I'm rather happy with the results. (Although some people would probably complain about the lack of common theme in the images.)

I love how she created the circles from the large design block and how she added the little flourish above the sentiment.
I wanted this card to have a washi feel to it so I stamped the summer green Hero Arts note card with Soft green shadow ink and the wood finish background stamp.
The circles were stamped using the poinsettia and birds design block and soft blossom ink, they were then embossed with thick clear embossing powder.

This background happens to be the page I used to clean my brayer between Gelli prints. I really like how it turned out!
Attic grave stele found in Athens, built into the Themistokleian wall. The relief represents a young doryphoros, or spear-bearer, portrayed against a red background.
The young man is depicted in profile, looking to the right, in the guiet, motionless pose typical of the Archaic period. He is naked and muscular, and the spear in the raised left hand marks him as an athlete. His right arm dangles at his side. His shoulder-length hair is gathered in locks, with chin length plaits between his eye and his ear. His hair is tied in place by a narrow band, covered at the front by his hair.
The original height of the grave monument is assumed to have been around 4,5 m.; the surviving piece of the stele is 116 cm high and up to 52 cm wide.
