Back from shopping and trying on one of my new outfits, just something casual for running around when I go out...Yes I know the shoes are all wrong but that gives me a reason to go shopping again. Not that good of a photo, I don't think I even brushed my hair after putting on my new top...
Maybe the lady was just popping out to the shed, when, it duly powered by! The 'Shed' in question is DB Cargo (then DB Schenker/EWS) Class 66 No. 66019, which is approaching Shenstone station with a test train from Derby RTC on 10th April 2012. Ken & I saw Sting from 3rd row seats in Chastain Amphitheater, Atlanta - this is the VERY first shot I snuck with the Nikon! OMG! Yes, FANtastic!! Got hassled at the gate over the camera- YES. Talked my way through two VERY kind event people there- YES! Did NOT shoot with flash- absolutely NOT! High ISO, 18-55mm lens. And well, with 3rd row shots, that was GREAT as a view, but we were sitting practically in the lap of one of the security guys . . . ! It's not like I am selling these memories- just sharing them, and not like we didn't pay dearly to be where we were- we DID! It was AWESOME! Somehow, I don't think Sting would begrudge me these awesome mementoes- I didn't do him out of a cent of what he worked for!!
And yes, he can still belt 'em out! He sang nonstop for the entire concert and was rockin' the skinny leather jeans! His voice is SO amazing and not ONE crack or lack there! EVEN better than expected!
Oh. And one more thing- the Chastain Amphitheater venue is GREAT! Very small and laid-back; more personal- we would LOVE to go back to ANYthing else there!

Another overcast day, I did my best :) I had a visit from a friend from the UK. We had success with the woodpeckers, seeing Middle and Great Spotted, White-backed, Grey-headed, Black and Syrian (from my balcony). We heard Green calling. The Hawfinch didn't come for the first day but it did on the second. We were fortunate as we only had two days to visit the hide. Like I previously stated the weather was overcast......again.......this weekend is another wash out :(
Today was back to school. How fast the summer went and just how fast my son has grown. Already grade 2!!

I grew a right old hipster beard whilst I was away. I've shaved it off now.
A collection of pots and tubs on the patio whils the pond, rockery and raspberry canes are about a yearold here I guess.
It was a dark dreary day today with a cold front coming through.
I went out in the back yard to let my killer Bull dog do her thing.
When I stepped outside I noticed the trees were full of
Turkey Vultures. I counted nine all together, with one of them perched on the back of the bench on my dock.
I let Silky take care of business, and took her back inside.
I grabbed my camera, went back outside, and they were still there. I walked within 30 feet or less of the one on my my dock and took a few shots. This being one of them.
There was a small fish kill with the last cold front that came through and I think they were there to snack on the dead fish.

Thank-you so much for everyones support over the past few months as I struggled to find out what was wrong with me knee! After having an ultrasound, 2 x-rays, MRI, and seeing a few different doctors I finally found Dr. Watson. He performed athroscopic knee surgery on me today and discovered that my knee cartilage had been damaged and was extremely loose. He told me that even the suction from the surgery could have pulled it out. I had the damaged part removed, and am well on my way to making a recovery. I should be able to start walking around a little in a few days, and once I am fully healed should be able to kneel and run once again! I am so happy that the problem is finally diagnosed after 4 months of unknowns.
The dogs are going to make recovery so much easier. Just having them there, cuddling with me and staying close.
Two Chickadee families nested in our yard this summer. These are the only birds that will stay at the feeders when I'm on the deck. My backyard is heavily treed...so very dark even on the brightest morning. I really had to crank up the ISO...thus, all the noise.
