Back to business as usual. 'Least I don't have to walk a beat anymore.
Yeah, must be comfortable being Commissioner.
You got that right, Dan.
Still haven't got the place cleaned up, have they? God it must have been...
Jeesh. The last time I was here was 2007, with the reservoir riots. You remember, Foley?
Course I do. Not something anybodies gonna be forgetting, lemme tell ya.
God. The gangs are gonna be at it again soon; I can feel it. And it's not a nice feeling. You know what we found at the docks yesterday, Dan? Two hundred assault rifles, 50 RPGs, and god knows how many submachine guns. Leats we know whose they were though; guess what they had in their pockets?
Ummm...Joker cards?
No, thank god. But they had coins, defaced on both sides.
Ah, shit. Good thing we got that.
Yeah. Also a good thing we've got more Men, and more SWAT. We're gonna need them...

Photography has taken a back seat for the past month. Today I finally had the chance to get out and spend some time with my camera. Life has been busy and I am nursing 4 broken ribs which doesn't help.
This shot was taken in my backyard with the early morning sun for lighting.

Beautiful signs of decay where nature takes back it's place.
Trees and shrubs grow through and on the roof and windows of the building.
Nature lives on forever, human made objects will be gone sooner or later.
I found this old abandoned hotel on the road from Sélestat to Colmar in Alsace, France.

We have been mostly dry for a couple weeks now after a decent start to the winter, and it seems the long range forecast is looking extremely bleak for the rest of January. This is horrible news for our drought, and we might now be looking at a fourth straight year of well below average precipitation. But still hoping and praying this will not be the case.
This is Fiddle Creek Falls, 18 ft high. It was still flowing quite strong when I was here on Christmas Eve.

Just after Sunrise, NJT 4200 leads train 5718 while overtaking CSX Q190 in Newark, NJ. The day before saw moderate snowfall and caused NJT to shut buses down and run their severe weather scheduling. It would appear the trailing Multilevel Cab Car had issues, forcing the Raritan protect engine to be added before the day's run.
Exiting the Grand Bazaar through a small exit at the rear. A different view of the city was to be had.
Its always great to see a different aspect of a city. If you are wondering I came out from the arch on the right through a metalworking yard, up the steps and out through another arch into the road.
CP 8144 shoves on the back end of CPKC 576 as it enters Humboldt Yard with enough clearance over the Mississippi River and down the Grove Connection to Van Buren Street. Final destination for this loaded crude oil train is Port Arthur, Texas.
Happily back home after some interesting travels. Will be posting some recent but not brand-new shots for a bit until I can get my jet-lagged head together.

Abandoned Abused Street Dogs.
As you can see by the date this was taken a
week or so ago.
At this time Mama has a nasty monkey wound
on her side. Pain is making Mama real grumpy.
She has a short fuse for any monkey business.
On a good note:
Mama is here at our home and doing quite well.
Both no# 1 wife and I are her caregivers making
sure all her needs are taken care of.
Tomorrow she goes back to the dog doctor for a
wound cleaning, bandage change
and general checkup.
It's your donations that has saved her life ...........
This whole dog saga started with Mama nearly 5
years ago at the monkey temple. Her body is full
of scars, dings and divots from an extremity tough
life in an unforgiving jungle environment.
The new revised plan is as follows.........
I'll head back out to the monkey temple in a few days.
Food and supplies still need to be delivered to the
nuns and head monk. Mama of course will stay here.
Once Mama has been cleared by the doctor she will
ride with me to the monkey temple. This could still be
a week or more away before she's given the OK ?
We'll spend some quality time with Rocky, Tinker Bell,
Little Stubby, Legs and Pumpkin the Rascal ..;-)
The Hooligans will be cared for too and I might have
missed a couple others but I'll get to them all.
Mama and I will return to our home together from the
monkey temple unless something that is out of my
control causes change.
This is the way it looks right now ........ ;-)
Thank You.
