I am just so enthused with those skies we see in various fashions, but in particular, the sunsets. This is of the homes across the street with their windows lit in the evening.

Several months ago, I saw that Tim ZephyrChaos was selling instructions/builds of his iconic SOREN mecha.

It's rare that I commission someone for a build, usually I prefer the C4C, trade, or people simply give me builds (my fav!) :D - but I couldn't pass up one of my fav Mecha builders - so I asked him to do one "in medium azure highlights with big ass sword and jet pack"

What I got back was this piece of art, and some fun details :D

Sunset during a Monsoon Thunderstorm. San Jose, CA. September 2012.

This year's drought has created this awesome but also eeri looking terrain from a dried lakebed right in the middle of Silicon Valley. I have been waiting to shoot here after I learned about this location a few weeks ago but the weather had been too boring since that time until last Wednesday when a brief thunderstorm passed by. Needless to say, I made sure I have my camera ready.

I arrived right when the sunset was getting good. Not surprising, a few of my flickr contacts are already shooting there - Jave, Aaron, Willie, Lukas and Matt. Having only clear and overcast skies the last few weeks, I was only hoping for a decent sunset "with clouds". But, oh boy! What a dramatic light show we got that night! The sky literary looked as if it was on fire! Right at this time, a small patch of rain cloud went into the middle of the scene and added more drama to it. The highly contrasty red/yellow colored sky combined with the cracked mud terrain reminds me of alien planet landscape they show in Sci-fi movies.

Almost winter and they're putting on new growth! Next thing you know, they'll be blooming. And, they're deer proof.

amazing wild juvenile Sparrowhawk taken on a recent trip to Scotland.

Today's adventure to me was awesome. Not so good for Lynette

Lynette knew where I planned to go on our adventure today. She said she "wanted to do something simple".

The road to this place is not plowed in the winter. I had driven past the road twice this week. I seen one set of tracks into the place. That was all the encouragement I needed.

This was actually the second old house I photographed today. Driving to the first one wasn't really easy, but we made it. Lynette wanted to quit while we were ahead. That house you can keep on going on the road you are on & be on pavement in about 1/2 mile.

This one we needed to turn around to keep up our momentum going back out. We managed to finally find a place to turn around. Took some skillful maneuvers to keep the truck in the track.

Oddly enough this place popped up in my Facebook memories today from two years ago. The snow this year has a hard crust to it. That made it more difficult than going there two years ago.

Going here in the snow under the right sky has been on my bucket list for a couple months.

Lynette's apprehension partly came from a phone call with her brother earlier today. Arlyn told her "Not to get stuck today".

Pretty awesome display of Red Kites feeding (well over a 3 - 5 hundred birds), especially seeing the ‘White Kite’!

Lots of ‘Argh’s’’, Ooh’s’, and ‘Wahoos’ from the onlookers.

Gigrin Farm, famous for its Red Kite Feeding, attracts visitors from around the world. Located half a mile from Rhayader, in Mid-Wales, hundreds of Red Kites feed here every day. It’s a breath-taking spectacle and is the best place in the UK to see and photograph 100s' of wild Red Kites (including rare leucistic Red Kites).
