At 310 meters (1017 feet), Dudhsagar Waterfalls is one of the highest waterfalls in India, located at the Karnataka-Goa border. It is 80 kilometers south of Belgavi and 46 kilometers east of Margao. Nestled in the Western Ghats, the Dudhsagar Waterfalls comes under the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park, in the Sanguem Taluka. This weekend it snowed almost non stop and the temperatures are dropping. We went for a snowshoe to one of our local waterfalls to day. We had to take turns breaking the trail because the snow was so deep and it was a real workout. However, the ice at the falls was awesome to see. Well worth the trek in. The whole afternoon was awesome.

Dusk is just the most amazing time of day, especially at the ocean as the golden light throws its warmth on the sands and rocks and they sparkle and glisten. Nature is just awesome!

Spot the tower on shore in the distance....

More colour from yesterday's visit to Wakehurst Place. The colours were just stunning in the sunlight.

My first visit to see these awesome sculptures by Andy Scott at night. Such a cool place to spend a couple of hours mooching. Surprisingly busy at 9.30pm too.....

In an monumental feat of engineering, The Kelpies, two 30 metre high stainless steel sculptures, rose from the ground in 2013, towering over The Helix and the Forth & Clyde canal.

Construction of The Kelpies began on 17th June 2013. The two enormous structures were manufactured and installed by SH Structures Limited.

The build was officially completed on 27th November 2013, and was celebrated with a 'topping-out' ceremony featuring Duke and Baron, the Clydesdale life models for The Kelpies.

The Kelpies by numbers

300 tonnes each

30 metres high

1200 tonnes of steel-reinforced concrete foundations per head

928 unique stainless steel skin-plates

Built on site in 90 days

I had hoped several years to catch this light phenomenon. And there it was on the very beautiful lakescape, where I had visited only few times in my hole life. The wonderful gift of the universe!
