I love doing these little mini paintings as warm up exercises. The range from business card size up to 5x7 depending on what random pieces of extra canvas I have collected.
They make nice gifts and are great small items for me to have available at art festivals and craft shows.

This is the pit of an avacado, after making a failed batch of cookies I wanted to see what the pit looked like without the skin, so I rinsed it off and then proceeded to peel off the dark brown skin and then split the pit in half. The inside of the pit was quite un-interesting, being a large expanse with a tine seed down by the bottom. The outside however began to turn a dark brownish red in the places that the pit had been scraped, cut or dropped. I found it quite fascinating. The deep line on the foreward half is where the knife bit into the pit while I was cutting the avacado in half. Afterwards, I noticed a seam in the pit, which is the line that the pit split in half along.
A late Saturday breakfast...
Blueberry bagels with philidelphia, Avacado, Mescalin Salad, crispy bacon, fried mushrooms and poached egg on top with a smattering of sweet chili sauce!
This is heading up the trail that runs from the Daley Ranch Road (Truck Trail) that you can see in the distance behind Arlene's head. The trail turns into a steep and tight single track just behind where I was standing to take this picture. The grade is about 13% and this was the first time Arlene had ridden her mountain bike on these kinds of trails. I had left the street slicks on her wheels so she had no traction in any of the loose dirt. That is Jamul Creek below the trail on the right of the picture.. Otay Lake is about 3 miles beyond the hills in the distance.
Avacado closeup at Kailua-Kona farmers market. We had a condo with a kitchen, and our breakfasts were bread and fresh fruits. Not bad at all :)
