Soldiers of Fredericksburg-based Headquarters Company, 116th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Virginia Army National Guard conduct training on a vehicle recovery and chemical attack lane June 24, 2014, at Fort Pickett, Va. The training lane was a part of the brigade-wide 10-day eXportable Combat Training Capability rotation designed to train and validate platoons on tasks that support offensive and defensive operations under daylight and hours of limited visibility. Units will concentrate on training selected mission essential tasks in a realistic field environment to refocus junior leaders on tactical field craft. The Army National Guard’s XCTC program provides an experience similar to a Combat Training Center to Guard Soldiers at a home station training center, minimizing cost and time away from home and jobs. XCTC is an instrumented field training exercise designed to certify unit proficiency in coordination with First Army. (U.S. National Guard photo by Sgt. JoAnna Greene/Released)

29.3.2016 Prague - Two Chinese goons attacked peacefully protesting woman, robbed the Tibetan flag and throw it into the river. Police was practically on the ends of the bridge, they protected another woman after she asked them, but not this young one. While these women and the photographer were allowed to go to the bridge, a Tibetan man, living in Prague, going with the photographer and later protected woman, was not allowed to go to the bride - he had 'Free Tibet' on his small backpack. There were many similar events where police tried to avoid Tibetan flag to be visible. During Chinese president visit. © 2016 Ya Noya.
This photo was taken on December 7, 1941 during the attack on Pearl Harbor. This time in United States history was very significant. It led to the country becoming involved in the World War II. FDR had just reassured the population 14 months prior to the bombings that he would not get involved in the war. After the attack, he had little choice but to enter into combat. In the aftermath of the bombings on Pearl Harbor, panic spread through the country as citizens found out how many of our navy personnel was lost. It led to a mass increase in Americans enrolling in civil defense programs to do their part to help the United States. Still today, it is a very significant event in the history of our country.
There are many different aspects of this photo that I find very interesting. The two soldiers in the foreground of the photo seem to be staring in disbelief and the one sitting on the ground is possibly injured. If you scan the photo, many soldiers appear to be standing around. It appears that there is an aircraft wing on the ground in the foreground of the photo that could possibly show that this particular area could be getting hit with debris or perhaps it was bombed. In the center of the photo there is a man walking with what appears to be a relatively brisk pace on his way towards one of the hangers. The fire plumes in the background of the photo shows either a massive fire or a fresh bombing or possibly both. This photo definitely represents the mass shock that the United States felt after the horrific event.
