My acrylic painting; a class still-life project for Donna K; I enjoyed doing the peaches, though they are a tad bright ! and I like the menacing cherries, and the attack on the castle of the cat_lady!

it's been way too hot in my room. there is no air conditioning and beijing is heating up. i think the heat finally got to me today. i didn't really sleep last night either, after two straight days of not sleeping. um, and that's my reasoning for this. it's purple.
While sitting for an hour waiting for a flying shot of the Osprey (who had been sitting on his perch) a Great Egret landed 2 feet from me. To my surprise the Male Osprey didn't like this intruder on his marsh even though he was more than 100 ft from the nest. I was lucky to catch the Osprey attack and chase the Egret off of his territory.
I've been slacking so far in 2007. Not that many images posted. I have to get off my butt and get working on this photography thing. My excuse is that between the cold snap that has hit Winnipeg, and the house shopping that I'm doing I haven't had a lot of time or inspiration to shoot anything. Well I lost out on my first house offer tonight. Asking was $149,900 for a nice small bungalo on a huge lot. I offered what I could, and lost out to a bid of $195,000. Wow... talk about a sellers market.
Anyways, Finn was in a playfull mood tonight. Managed to get a shot of him attacking a string I was holding in the air. I though it made out for a pretty funny shot. :)
Had fun playing around with this and turning it into a wallpaper. Feel free to use it on your desktop if you want (just click All Sizes above to get it full-sized). :)
My new pet braces to attack after spying the sock I carry in my hand. He has previously managed to dirty a brand new clean cage that I spent 10 minutes preparing as a shelter. Yeah ferret, I can wait as long as you can!
OK, so I know that technically this shot's a bit messy because the little tyke moved as I was pressing the shutter, but I still love the calculating evil lurking behind the eyes here. I was being accosted by a gang of these things trying to get into my car, presumably so that they could use it in ram raids in nearby Mildura.
