Here it is...the final product.
I did use a tiny bit of Pledge to give it a moderate shine. After I placed the Pledge on the Atari (and faceplate), I continued to dry it off until it looked natural. You don't need a lot, because little goes a long way.
I think the trim looks wonderful and the Atari 2600 looks like it just came off the assembly in 1977.
I know my bud Charley would've liked it.
Here's what it looked like before. goo.gl/bXntRe
Este funcionó durante muchos años. Lo intenté prender pero nanai :'(. Lo tendré que limpiar, eso sÃ.
Con esto abro el Venezuela 100. Suerte pa' mà :-P.
See anything different? Combat (1977) is missing its sticker on top of the cartridge. These can fall off, especially since the game is 40 years old.
Charley took care of his games, because (besides the sticker being off) they're in great condition.

"The Atari Advantage" Video Games: Comic Book Advertisement (1989)
*Appeared in: Justice League International: Comic Book Issue No. 23, Jan 1989 (DC Comics)
This year's motto was "Play" so for the closing ceremony I wanted the whole audience to play with my Atari 2600 console. Therefore I have built an interface which allows me to simulate a joystick and paddles with my Arduino board. The directions are triggered by tracking the motion of the audience. Since I couldn't test any of this in advance I wrote an AIR application which allowed me to adjust the motion tracking zones and the sensitivity on the fly.

This is the Atari Super Service sticker on the bottom of the Atari 2600 console. Your sticker(s) may vary.
I was able to repair the red sticker and keep it from peeling off (previous photo). I wanted to keep the original sticker. The serial number sticker is perfectly fine.
I used 91% rubbing alcohol with a q-tip to clean the Atari 2600 surface where the sticker was coming off. You want the surface clean.
I sprayed a little (little goes a long way) of the multi-purpose spray adhesive into a small cap, like a pop/soda cap. Make sure not to use the cap/lid that came with the adhesive, because afterward it'll be super sticky inside. Use one that you'll throw out.
I dipped a q-tip inside the cap/lid and applied a thin layer to the bottom of the sticker and the surface of the Atari 2600. You don't need a lot.
Afterward, I quickly went along the edge of the sticker (Atari 2600 surface) with 91% rubbing alcohol and a q-tip to get any excess off. The sooner you can do this, the better. You might have to do this several times to get the adhesive off.
Wait 5 minutes (or until dry) and gently place a cloth over the sticker and pat it dry. Before so, make sure it's not sticky along the edge of the sticker before placing the cloth over the sticker. This is optional, but I do this to make sure it's dry.
After 10 minutes of drying, leave the cloth on and place a flat object (book) on top of the sticker and leave it overnight.

Pressure Cooker is an Atari 2600 video game released by Activision in 1983. It has arcade-style gameplay, in which the player is a short-order cook at a hamburger stand who must assemble and package hamburgers to order without letting ingredients or hamburgers fall to the floor.

Supplies: Regular Screwdriver
To detach the switch board from the bottom of the motherboard, just unscrew the two screws on the bottom with a regular screwdriver.
This is a better glance at the six switch Atari 2600. You can see why they call it a six switch, because it has six switches. Left to right. Power (On/Off), TV Type (color b-w), Left Difficulty (a b), Right Difficulty (a b), Game Select, and Game Reset.
To get the EMI shield case off, just unscrew the four (two on the top, two on the bottom) screws on the bottom with a screwdriver.

Supplies: Cloth and Miniature Eyeglass Screwdriver
A lot of Atari 2600 games have a dust cover (see photo), which protects the contacts inside the game. To push the dust cover inward, take a small screwdriver (my case a miniature eyeglass screwdriver) and in the left (or right) corner push down on the open hole. The dust cover will pop down and expose the contacts.
Another method (which I don't recommend unless your game doesn't work after cleaning it) is taking the front cartridge sticker off via a hair dryer (melts the glue under the sticker), and gently peeling back the sticker (only half-way) and exposing the screw(s). You can unscrew the screw(s) and take apart the cartridge and clean the contacts this way.
To reapply the sticker, you'll have to use multi-purpose adhesive spray.
