This plant was bought from Ortegacactus (2007-09), as (synonym) Astrophytum cohauilense. Plant 1.
This caterpillar was on the near grass, then it crawled on to the cactus (Astrophytum capricorne)... odd combination for me...

This was part of the private collection of cacti and succulents at Manor Nursery, Angmering, West Sussex. The collection was started in 1948. The nursery is now gone. The collection has been dispersed to various new locations.
Astrophytum myriostigma is called "Bishop's Miter" or "Bishop's Cap".
