I nearly didn't make it this week; I've had family staying for the past 5 days, the house is packed up ready for the movers to arrive next week and we're "camping" in the house with the bare minimums. I rescued this pretty etched glass bowl (which belonged to my grandmother) from the garage sale we had on Saturday.
"Year of the city, 2013"; down the tubes - the London Underground, shot with a point and click compact (Canon S100) on manual.

Aperture: f/4.5
Focal length: 5 mm
ISO Speed: 200
White balance: auto
For this photograph, I used an artificial light source. I experimented using different types of light sources, however, I found that this lantern worked best. It had three options of lighting but I chose to use the second, medium light option. I had the light set about a feet away in the top left direction, angled above the statue head. The feeling that is displayed comes off as a slightly intense, but serious mood.

Assignment-4:Experiences in the Hamlet.
The glimmer in the eyes were once the tears that chafed like hails on juvenile blossoms!
My composition meets the assignment requirements because it uses a continuous physical line to create movement I also used good lighting from last project to build on to the composition. I took the picture by laying down and angling the camera down the angled slope of the path I also used rule of thirds to have the beginning of the path and the end of the path as far as we can see. I edited it by upping the temperature to give it an amber glow. I think I used rule of thirds well to create an interesting subject so that you wonder where does the path go. I like the amber shade of grain because it reminds me of the national anthem "Amber waves of grain". I wish I had taken a better picture from the other side of the path as to exclude the houses making you wonder more where does the path lead and the houses would no longer be in the back ground.
So for these shoot, i had to take for both last week and this week assignment. And for my project i decided to follow up with a continuation of a another shoot i had done a few years ago and that is shooting construction sites. I choose construction site because to me this is an everyday thing, however to many others it brand new. The way i shot these images were done in different angles and seeing the inside of different building before any of the walls were added. I went around and saw three different sites and worked there getting my images. Most of these are done in a abstract way because i want to show a different more artistic side to something most people take for granted. During my shoot the sun was going down so i had to play with the little light source i had to play with my ISO and Aperture as well. I was a bit of a challenge mainly because i wasnt able to take my camera inside these areas, so i had to wait until work shift was over and come in the night to get my images. I took over 119 photos but chose these 23 because these were my best for both week, plus i had a few over 13 images from some other days i had taken images but i felt these here were my stronger ones.
