In this folio I wanted to document the day in the life of a photographer. I spent a number of days following a photographer who’s main interest is urban street art. At least once a week he travels from Bendigo to Melbourne to search the streets hoping to find new works of art to document, this has become his obsession.

For my light source, I used the flashlight on the back of my iPhone. As for the direction of the light, I crossed my hands (one holding the iPhone and one holding the camera) one on top of the other - kind of like how a police officer would hold his gun and flashlight. I brought both the lens and the light source extremely close to the subject, but slightly below pointing upwards. I feel that the lighting in this shot portrays a still, and stiff mood - almost detached from reality and/or human life.

my next photo assignment is still life/apply rule of thirds. I took my black halloween table cloth and covered wall and credenza with it. Then I put my red wedding Cole Haans on it and played with the bridal veil. I cannot decide which of my favorite four shots I should take for the assignment. Constructive feedback is strongly encouraged. This is version 2, the crazy one. Not knowing what rules I would break, I simply held the veil in front of the lens. I love this shot and the almost 3 D effect, I created with the veil. However, I am not sure if it qualifies for the best grade as it is a bit out there.

Our last night of Photography class.

Our final assignments were due and critiqued.
They liked my stuff (and I got a 100%).
We also has our final exam.
Could you believe I aced it (another 100%).
This class was fun, inspirational, challenging, entertaining and I never received any grade less then 100.
I must be a brainyack!

Here is my first assignment for the Christmas theme in Laure Ferlita's course. There are five assignments in ten days and today she gave assignment #4-slightly behind. She is an excellent teacher and I am learning much from her classes. I have been taking classes from her since July. Through my experience with her, I have seen my drawing skills improve tremendously.
Assignment 52 -- Assignment 52 -- Bokeh, & how to use it as an element in composition, with out of focus background appearing where & how we want, supporting the main subject without overpowering it.
With thanks to Ann for advice on cropping. I did change the cropping, though not as extensively as she suggested. When I replaced the photo with the new version, the note remained & I don't know how to get rid of it. It's not quite as she intended it because I tilted the image as part of the cropping. Will be interested in her response, if this seems less overpowering. I do so like light bokeh, but maybe am overly enamored---

On assignment for Canned Creative, capturing images for a corporate website. Not just their appearance gets captured but also their mood, essence, history, and, most importantly, vulnerability. When talented photographers like yourself conduct portraits, such as when you capture the sadness behind the eyes, you are able to successfully capture their soul. However, it is essential to recognize that the soul is dynamic, so it will never be possible to capture it throughout the transcendence of time, but good photographers can be better than a mirror.
