Worcester Academy Cultural Heritage Dinner, October 2014. A community quilt was created and assembled at the event.
This is one of the three-feet-to-axle trebuchets that I made a number of years ago. This one, part of a pair, was built to SCA specifications for siege engines and throws a one pound "rock" made of carpet padding in a canvas ball wrapped *very* tightly in duct tape. Using about 100 pounds of counter-weight, we can throw that projectile a bit over 200 feet, and denser objects can be thrown upwards of 300 feet... not bad for a three foot tall "toy"
