The National Assembly (French: Assemblée nationale) is the lower house of the bicameral French Parliament under the Fifth Republic, the upper house being the Senate (Sénat). The National Assembly's legislators are known as députés.

There are 577 députés, each elected by a single-member constituency (at least one per department) through a two-round system; thus, 289 seats are required for a majority. The president of the National Assembly presides over the body. The officeholder is usually a member of the largest party represented, assisted by vice presidents from across the represented political spectrum. The National Assembly's term is five years; however, the President of France may dissolve the Assembly, thereby calling for new elections, unless it has been dissolved in the preceding twelve months.

Following a tradition started by the first National Assembly during the French Revolution, the left-wing parties sit to the left as seen from the president's seat and the right-wing parties to the right; the seating arrangement thus directly indicates the left–right political spectrum as represented in the Assembly. The official seat of the National Assembly is the Palais Bourbon on the Rive Gauche of the Seine in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The Assembly also uses other neighboring buildings, including the Immeuble Chaban-Delmas on the Rue de l'Université, Paris. Like most institutions of importance in Paris, it is guarded by Republican Guards.

My entry into Project Soul Pancake Week #2: Art at Arms Reach.

The whole point of this week's project was to create art out of the things around you, on your desk or in your house. Since September I've been doing a project in which I make one thing each day and I've come to really enjoy the creative process that I get to enjoy. Each day I get some time to turn on music and just create. Sometimes I make food, sometimes I make gifts, sometimes I just make random things. It's therapeutic to create and assemble and work on crafts.

I decided that for this project that I would only use materials that were ON my desk since all my crafty things are inside it. I used two glass jars to make the body of the owl and then I covered it with white cardstock, cut into feather shapes. Then I painted over it with some watercolours and finally assembled some feet from a roll of wire that I randomly had sitting on the end of my desk.

p.s. the scarf I'm wearing is from the uber-talented Stephanie who made me two sets of scarves/hats to keep me warm :)

Spaghetti

Homemade sauce

Garlic toast: Deli rolls, powdered garlic

Unsalted butter

Salad

Fresh sweet onion

Putted all together, textured photo.

Thanks for the visit have a nice day

My favorite to assemble and to eat... yum

I went to “regular” Brat Fest today to buy brats for the whole assembled family in town today. On the way in, I passed the “Wisconsin Remembers” wall. It highlights all of the Wisconsin military/coast guard servicemembers who made the ultimate sacrifice. Sobering, and fitting as this weekend centers around Memorial Day when we pause to remember those who gave their all.

A couple more "manga scale" figures. I'm enjoying building these guys, but they do take ages of tweaking and refining until I'm happy with them.

If I can face it, I'm going to try and do the rest of the Avengers. Already half-way through a Hulk figure, but he's proving to be rather tricky to get just right at this scale.

To commemorate the 50 anniversary of the first flight of the Soyuz spacecraft, I have assembled the LEGO Soyuz in minifig scale.

I dedicate this work to Cosmonaut Vladimir Komarov and the Space development of mankind.

The height of rocket : 1.28 m

Scale : 1/40

The total number of parts (rocket, spacecraft, pedestal) : about 8600

I created a video using the photo.

Never posted that picture taken while I was assembling the Zenith in the "studio".

The two side modules and the rear module are missing.

Batman

Torso Design is based on the new Desert Batman.

Actually what you are currently looking at is a "misprinted" Torso.

Will update the picture soon with the correct one and maybe painted short-sleeve arms.

I can't believe it's finally time. . .10 years in the making.

Infinity War comes out today (for America, anyway), and I can not fully express how excited I am to see this incredible cinematic experience! Nothing like this has ever been done before.

Thanks to my buddy PsychoBrick for some last minute critiques. :)

Please respectfully avoid sharing any spoilers down in the comments below.

Through the creations that I build, I hope to inspire other young (or perhaps older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity. We all need a positive way to express ourselves, so let's allow LEGO to be an extension of us. Your creativity belongs to you, and nobody can take that away. Build what you want to build, and how you want to build it.

This the largest photomosaic ever assembled from NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope observations. It is a panoramic view of the neighbouring Andromeda galaxy, located 2.5 million light-years away. It took over 10 years to make this vast and colorful portrait of the galaxy, requiring over 600 Hubble snapshots. The galaxy is so close to us, that in angular size it is six times the apparent diameter of the full Moon, and can be seen with the unaided eye. For Hubble’s pinpoint view, that’s a lot of celestial real estate to cover. This stunning, colorful mosaic captures the glow of 200 million stars. That’s still a fraction of Andromeda’s population. And the stars are spread across about 2.5 billion pixels. The detailed look at the resolved stars will help astronomers piece together the galaxy’s past history that includes mergers with smaller satellite galaxies.

[Image description: The Andromeda galaxy, a spiral galaxy, spreads across the image. It is tilted nearly edge-on to our line of sight so that it appears very oval. The borders of the galaxy are jagged because the image is a mosaic of smaller, square images against a black background. The outer edges of the galaxy are blue, while the inner two-thirds is yellowish with a bright, central core. Dark, dusty filamentary clouds wrap around the outer half of the galaxy’s disk. At 10 o’clock, a smaller dwarf elliptical galaxy forms a fuzzy, yellow blob. Hubble’s sharp vision distinguishes about 200 million stars within the image.]
