A wedding seems to call for splurging, blowing a whole quart+ of huckleberries,
but the Thanksgiving apple pie was such a success and there are still so many apples from my gleanings last month.
Instead I went for a repeat, this time in a cast iron pan.
Filling: a mix of apples gleaned this fall, a drizzle of concentrated apple juice cooked down to an unsweeteened syrup, instant tapioca, cinnamon, nutmeg, a pinch of salt. Drizzled heavily with honey.
Crust: unbleached white flour, pinch of salt, coconut oil, water, apple syrup

I am away from home, finishing up a three-week trip without any of my handcrafted treasures. If I were home, I could snap a photo of one of my quilts or something I've knit, but on the road on this trip, the best I could do was this jewelry, which I assembled from a big bead I bought at a craft store and a chain I got at a garage sale.
