One of our most popular valentines is the rainbow valentine. It involves strips of fancy papers arranged in rainbow order, a very time-consuming process. This time around is for a wholesale order for Mr Moon’s.
The box has been glued and assembled. The pieces have been "persuaded" into place with some gentle tapping by the rubber mallet, and the corners checked to ensure they are square.
My dovetails are tight enough that no clamps are needed. The "tightness" of a dovetailed joint is hard to explain. It needs to be tight enough that gentle pressure from either a hand or a mallet is needed to join it, but it can't be so tight that you need to pound it to get it together. It also can't be too loose, for all the obvious reasons. It's a matter of practice to get it "just right".
Pyrotechnician works on a fireworks "castle" for a night time celebration in San Pablo Guelatao, a Zapotec village in the Sierra Juarez of Oaxaca. Guelatao is the home town of revered president Benito Juarez.
We used the trunk of a small bonsai tree, wire and various kinds of sponges and moss to create the miniature tree seen in the maze scene.

The radio station where I work, sent my wife and I to the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge. On the opposite end of the parking lot was The Island. We decided to have an early supper at Paula Deem's restaurant. We were on a waiting list, so I snapped a few pictures while we waited. I enjoyed watching them install the new Nebulaz thrill ride while we waited. At this stage they were using a crane to add the tubs/seats to the ride.
