Location: Lowman, Idaho. Sometimes you come upon a beauty of colors that simply takes your breath away. This was one moment in time. A remote part of Idaho.
I love the randomness in nature. Fallen trees, a pool of water for aspen leaves to drift upon, and a tangle of brush. God's creative handiwork never looks messy or un-natural. If I tried to duplicate this in my garden it would look like....I tried too hard!

Sunset at the Tetons
On our first evening of our Photo Tour with friend and Photographer Jeff Clow with Dirt Cheap Photo Tours we were able to visit and photograph the Tetons at sunset. A great way to start a Photo Tour.
This is the house adjacent to the North Moulton Barn.
Jeff has another photo tour coming up in July 2012 if you are interested drop me a FlickrMail
Notice the sun rays beaming in.
Enjoy - Happy Shooting

I really love aspens. We don't have fall for long in California, but when it happens, it's gorgeous.
This area was reported as being all over with--all the leaves gone--but as one can clearly see, there was lots and lots of color left!
Shot after sunset, during dusk, when the trunks and bright leaves glow against their background.

As I entered Rock Creek Canyon the last week in September I found that the Aspens were just starting to turn color. As I went higher the colors became more pronounced.
Seen while driving through the San Juan National Forest between Durango and Silverton, Colorado. [location shown on map is approximate]

Moods of Autumn
I always feel so fortunate when the fall weather provides clouds, fog and snow. Here is just a sample of what I experienced in the Southern Colorado San Juan mountains.

"Aspens in the Hills" by Patti Deters. The hills and fields along Highway 12 near Homestead Overlook by Boulder, Utah are coming alive with new spring growth in the grass and trees. Many of the Aspen trees (Populus tremuloides) are still showing their white bark while others have a bit of bright green leaves just starting to bud out. The colors of the shrubs, brush, and earth add to the multi-layered aspect of the rural countryside, all under a cloudy blue sky. If you like outdoor nature photography, please see more landscape artwork at patti-deters.pixels.com/featured/aspens-in-the-hills-patt....
After hiking and driving around most of the day, checking out the beautiful Colorado fall colors, I came home to one of my favorite places - my backyard! I've said it before. This view never gets old!
