Disco Rodeo had poor ventilation. The entire crowd was drenched in sweat. Alex, the lead singer hollered "ladies!" before the band proceeded into their song "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor".

The Young Friends of Art annual fundraiser, Party Arty, is the place to be seen for hipsters and art lovers in KC.
Arty snail mail for a friend, with whom I started out a new creative project... We will be sending each other illustrated / handlettered pages (in handmade envelopes) which we will eventually bind into a little arty book.
A mosaic fence in the eclectic seaside village of Haumoana (which means ocean wind). This image of the work in progress shows two of our native birds. On the left is Ruru, a small, nocturnal owl, and on the right is Kereru, a large bush pigeon.

I found a free pile on the side of the road, there was a satin type wedding dress in the pile. I brought it home thinking I could cut it up for something else. I pulled the dress out of the box and set it on the floor to get to the other items...Arty immediately went and laid down on the dress.

It doesnt happen very often but a gloriously sunny, clear and warm day over Woodhead bathed the fabulous scenery ... too good to resist.
Been over many times to and from Barnsley etc, today was the day we photographed it!
A constant stream of mainly artics in both directions including a surprising percentage of continentals, a honk, wave or lights flash from many of the drivers, well ... heres a selection, enjoy.
Missing, no peewits or indeed any bird noise at all, nor any sheep. Complete silence in between tranches of traffic.
Present ....sadly the idyllic scenery was marred by the huge amount of rubbish ranging from bottles, cans, binbags of rubbish, a car seat and even a bathroom sink and cistern, dumped at the roadside by those that think it is acceptable not to dispose of their rubbish properly ......

PANORAMIC TROMSØ & ARCTIC CATHEDRAL EXCURSION - £44 ea.
Went around the Island to Sandnessund Bridge connecting Troms Island with Kvaløya (Whale Island). We passed the University - the northernmost university in the world, and crossed the bridge over the Tromsø Sound to the Artic Cathedral which we had previously visited in morning.

The Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center in Anaheim, CA was built in 2014 and serves Amtrak, Metrolink and several bus lines. Note the Big A tower at Angel Stadium, a couple of blocks away.

So I was a bit worried about her hair, considering it might have been in that braid and knot for 40 years, but it just took a bit of boiling water to straighten it. But first it looked like this.
I just could not sleep and wandered around the deck. I regretted the early start later on, of course.

The Arctic Fox lives in some of the most frigid extremes on the planet. Among its adaptations for cold survival are its deep, thick fur,[4] a system of countercurrent heat exchange in the circulation of paws to retain core temperature, and a good supply of body fat. The fox has a low surface area to volume ratio, as evidenced by its generally rounded body shape, short muzzle and legs, and short, thick ears. Since less of its surface area is exposed to the Arctic cold, less heat escapes the body. Its furry paws allow it to walk on ice in search of food. The Arctic Fox has such keen hearing that it can precisely locate the position of prey under the snow. When it finds prey, it pounces and punches through the snow to catch its victim.
