"This sculpture was commissioned to convey and articulate the strength, security, and solidarity which parishioners experience from St. Alban's Parish. The text directs our attention to the Divine Source of this parish's strength, and reads: "For thou are my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me." {Psalm 31:3; KJV)
"Thomas Melville Chapin was chosen to create this sculpture because he works with stone which has the innate dimension of linking a sense of permanence and strength with the eternal.
"White granite, sometimes called "Bethel Moonlight" because of its luminous quality at night, was selected for its pureness of appearance and durability.
"The text, written in Braille, reminds us that these are inner truths. Rather than being raised in dots as is the norm for Braille, the inscription is cut in rectangles for aesthetic reasons and to suggest an old fashioned computer card or player piano roll ... connoting that this psalm is a code that conveys a meaning broader than just the statement itself.
Projecting a sense of timeless eternal strength, this sculpture spans the ages -- leaving an impression of primitivism as well as ultra-modernism.

I met Catherine in year 10 when I moved to Stawell and started at the local high school. We hit it off pretty much straight away.
She was pretty, intelligent, articulate, a talented illustrator and photographer, very into music and a very good friend. Over the years, very little has changed.
Despite our respective movements around Australia (both of us) and the UK (me), and the odd loss of contact here and there, we have managed to keep our friendship alive.
We were always willing subjects for each others' various assignments; I acted in her TAFE black & white 16mm film (which I wish I had been able to see!); she let me drape her in chains and seaweed (on separate occasions).
We have both been supportive and encouraging of each others' art, whether it be visual or literary.
During my road trip with Philip Ivens through the eastern states of Australia, we were lucky enough to arrange to meet Catherine and her partner, Aaron, to spend a long Easter weekend on Aaron's family's property, Shady Rest, in Wombeyan Caves at the base of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales.
The time spent there was a great opportunity for me to catch up with Catherine and Aaron, but also turned out to be a very inspiring one, with the old home site at my disposal to shoot self-portraits and other photographs amongst what was left of the previous home. I felt very spoilt.
During my time there, I only managed to snap a few shots of Catherine. She is animated to the point that finding a moment of calm in her is often impossible. Her mind and her body move at a rate of knots most of the time.
And though usually I would avoid shots like these; shots where someone is playing up to the camera, and specifically dropping into a defensive stance - the single finger salute taking centre stage - I think this actually sums up Catherine quite well in some respects.
She is done with the niceties of life. She doesn't really care too much what you think about her and how she lives her life. She's all about being in the moment and living her life the way she wants to. And she does.

I attribute a lot of success in my career to the people that have pushed me creatively along the way.
One of those people in my life has definitely been good friend, Eric Del Greco.
From the beginning of my career Eric has pushed me to create to my fullest potential and has never let me settle for mediocrity.
The Picture above is a conversation Eric and I had about a logo I was designing at the time. I asked Eric for his input and to bestow his generous wisdom on me.
With such innovative technique, and articulate phrasing, its no wonder how I got to were I am today. Thanks Buddy!
The ZicroMount III is used to mount any device with a ¼ 20” or a 3/816” inch (with a ¼ 20” to 3/8 16” adapter) screw hole. The Zicromount III is screwed into the bottom of the device such as a monitor (pictured here) and mounted to any 15mm rod, threaded articulating arm with Zacuto ZUDS orZamerican Arm. The Zicromount III has the ability to attach to the device using two screws. The Zicromount III also has L shaped claws to prevent devices from turning and unwinding. By adding an optional camera pin, the ZicroMount III can be used as a mini Baseplate for small cameras, allowing for quick-release onto tripods and Zamerican arms for press conference shooting.
In case anyone's wondering - I borrowed my co-worker's Manfrotto articulating arm. This is the same arm I believe Chase Jarvis used in his bike shoot (POV) video.
My first impression is that I even just holding my XT with the battery grip off, I'm having trouble getting this arm rigid. Not surprisingly the best driving shots were when I am stopped (see here) or driving over extremely smooth freeways. I reshot a few bike shots and they were at first glance worse than my home brewed $5.00 fixture.
More tinkering required, I'm chalking this to "user = id ten t" error.
