Yesterday I posted a white one. Later down the same path, we found this yellow one. They regularly occur in both colors, but I think this is the first yellow one I've ever found.

Corkscrew Swamp is not exactly ablaze with flowers blooming in the winter, but there are a few in bloom. This one is a Lance-leaf Arrowhead that seems to be fairly common. I have found these blooming in each of the last five winters. According to the Sanctuary literature, "wildlife enjoy the starchy tuberous roots" of this plant.
Setophaga pharetra

Jamaican endemic. Local name is "Ants Picker".
This spider differs from most other orb weavers by hanging head-up in the web. I tend to find them in the woods in late summer and autumn, but this is the first female I've found in my yard. I found a male on my doorframe last year.

Driving to Oban along the banks of Loch Awe we stopped due to the perfect reflections. A moment after this the raindrops came and the hillside no longer looked like a stone age arrowhead.

The line of trees along the opposite side of Montpelier Reservoir created a series of reflected diagonals.
History is happening! New photo work for Atlanta History Center. I spent a week in Atlanta during the month of June shooting tons of artifacts from the vaults. I also photographed costumed interpreters as well as many other destinations around the Atlanta History Center. It was a pleasure working with long time friends and collaborators Son & Sons on this fun rebrand.

While on business, a client offered me tickets to the Chiefs second preseason game and later offered to go so I would not have to go alone. Quite a guy. We had a great time.
This is a mobile phone shot of Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO. Just in case you're wondering, KC won over the Seahawks by 1 point.
BTW, in the stadium a beer is $9.25. There appeared however to be no shortage of takers ;-)
Cleaning up my shelf a little, so sadly it's time to scrap Arrowhead. However, I did make some changes since his post (that I should have thought of originally...). Silver lightsaber handles make much better parts to the arrows than the stud pins. Also thought I'd try Han Solo's thigh as his quiver.
This is a provincially rare dragonfly that is listed as Imperiled (S2) by NatureServe in Ontario (although it is common in many parts of its US range). Seen in the Carden area of Kawartha Lakes.
