Every time I visit one of these medieval castles, I admire the architects and builders who constructed these magnificent structures that have been hugging and dominating the landscapes for centuries.
This was the destination of our beautiful bike ride through the forests surrounding this castle. We did not see the castle from a distance on this route so this is really just a litlle snippet of its grandiose architecture.
According to The Handbook of Texas, the area where the town is now located was once granted to the county in 1892 by the 77 Ranch, owned by S.B. Wilson and Wilson Furneaux.[4] The town developed in 1917–1918 with a hotel and service from the Santa Fe railroad, which had built a branch line from Lubbock, Texas, to Texico, New Mexico, in 1913. The land company manager and first postmaster, P.E. Boesen, suggested the town's name in 1918. A gin was built in 1922 and a bank established a year later. The town was incorporated in 1925, when the population was 600, up from a population of only 15 in 1920. The first of several grain elevators was also erected in 1925. The outer facades of the Taj Mahls and the tombs inside are decorated with reliefs and, above all, with multi-coloured marble inlays of the greatest fineness and with various semi-precious stones. There are colorful floral motifs, but also inscriptions with passages from the Koran in black marble on a white background
DE:

there is no need to go to Marina Bay Sands, Singapur or to Bilbao to shoot a famous archtecture for the umpteenth time ...
you walk through the streets, the postman lets the door open for a tiny moment and you slip in and take a photo of an unknown building of an unknown architect, but it's a gem ...
