Cologne, Germany, 2016. This used to be cologne's main post office. Nowadays it has been turned into an old folks hospital. Interesting is, that from my perspective , the archtecture is pretty avantgardistic.
Beaune, La France
The Hospices de Beaune or Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune is a former charitable almshouse in Beaune, France. It was founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor of Burgundy, as a hospital for the poor. The original hospital building, the Hôtel-Dieu, one of the finest examples of French fifteenth-century architecture, is now a museum. Services for patients are now provided in modern hospital buildings.
An important charity wine auction is held in November each year (formerly in the great hall of the Hôtel-Dieu).
I'm nothing special when it comes to B&W photography. Maybe the reason I feel so weird posting this is because I can't remember the last time I haven't relied on color to do the work for me... check the rest of my photostream if you don't believe me.
Petra is a most talented artist deep in her heart and soul . Her inner beauty comes out in all forms of visual art, from painting to photography. Her eternally searching eye captures beauty in all subjects , from landscapes to portraits, from archtecture to flowers. She has a special place in my heart as a friend, because she believed in my images even when I didn't and, encouraged me to go on and improve and, these words coming from a most gifted artist as her gave me a magical strenght. De directeur van het trambedrijf van Cleveland heeft bij de introductie van het door hem in 1914 bedachte doorstroomsysteem in trams vast niet kunnen bevroeden dat er meer dan een eeuw later in Milaan nog een flink aantal Peter Witt-vierassers die gebouwd zijn volgens zijn principes rondrijden.
Vanaf 1927 verschenen er 502 Peter Witt-trams op de Milanese tramsporen. Hiervan zijn er anno 2022 nog ongeveer 130 in regelmatig gebruik. De afgebeelde motorwagen 1990 stamt uit de deel serie 1883-1992 die geleverd werd door Officine Elettro-Ferroviarie Tallero.
De tram rijdt voor de frontgevel van het Palazzo del Credito Italiano op de Piazza Cordusio in het centrum van Milaan. Het voormalige hoofdkantoor van de bank Unicredit is in 1901 in eclecticische stijl gebouwd naar een ontwerp van de architect Luigi Broggi.

According to the Thai calendar, the Thai New Year was to be celebrated from April 13th until April 15th! Songkran, the festival of water, is one of the most important Thai holidays. Celebrated across the country, it marks the beginning of both the new year and the raining season. This year, however, the Thai government cancelled the celebration of Songkran due to concerns and restrictions associated with the Coronavirus crisis. I felt like sharing some traditional architectural sights and associated memories from my "second home" during this difficult time. Pictured here is one of the most beautiful temples at Koh Samui. This temple is not a tourist hot spot and, for this reason, I won’t mention its name, to keep it a safe little secret place.

you walk through the streets, the postman lets the door open for a tiny moment and you slip in and take a photo of an unknown building of an unknown architect, but it's a gem ...
