Class 37 No.37057 works passed the splendid archtecture of Whitacre Water works with the 0Z37 0944 Derby R.T.C.(Network Rail) to Derby R.T.C.(Network Rail). This was similar to yesterday's Derby to Walsall workings (previous image) except this time it ran from Derby R.T.C. to Coleshill Parkway and back three times. 22nd April 2025.

The Pumping Station buildings at Whitacre Waterworks, Shustoke, Warwickshire, are a Victorian Civic Gospel design built and completed around 1872. Along with the construction of Shustoke Reservoir, it was originally designed to pump six million gallons of fresh water per day to nearby Birmingham.

English Electric type 3 No.37057 was originally D6757 and entered service on the 5th October 1962 .

I have prepared a free two part tutorial on how this image was taken and put together, which is linked on my website. The tutorial describes the mobile apps and online resources you can use to plan and shoot a sunrise at a location you have never visited before. It covers mobile apps for cloud cover, sunrise photography, online scouting and taking multiple exposures for optimal results. It is aimed at enthusiasts who probably don't own the very best equipment and would benefit from exposure blending to get pro results.

I've taken the plunge and ordered the new Mavic Air. How about you?

This was created by blending exposures using Raya Pro. Check out my free tutorials, equipment guide and latest work on my website.

Notheastern view of Chilehaus in Hamburg. Seen from this angle, the archtecture of this 10 story high office building represents a ship. The building was commisioned by a merchant who had left Hamburg in his youth and later made a fortune trading salpeter from Chile (hence the naming). Some aspects of this building are intriguing. Build from 1922 to 1924 by architect Fritz Hoeger, it is made of some 4.8 million bricks which are rough and almost black in color. The architect was quoted, that at the time, those bricks were deemed only fit for flooring or building a pig sty. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The photo shows an aerial view of the impressive Chrysler Building, an iconic skyscraper in New York City. The building is characterized by its Art Deco design and its striking spire. It was completed in 1930 and was considered the tallest building in the world at the time. The Chrysler Building is also known for its shiny metal cladding, which reflects the daylight and gives the building a characteristic sheen. In the background is the East River, which forms an important part of the New York skyline and is a major waterway for the city.

According to the Thai calendar, the Thai New Year was to be celebrated from April 13th until April 15th! Songkran, the festival of water, is one of the most important Thai holidays. Celebrated across the country, it marks the beginning of both the new year and the raining season. This year, however, the Thai government cancelled the celebration of Songkran due to concerns and restrictions associated with the Coronavirus crisis. I felt like sharing some traditional architectural sights and associated memories from my "second home" during this difficult time. Pictured here is one of the most beautiful temples at Koh Samui. This temple is not a tourist hot spot and, for this reason, I won’t mention its name, to keep it a safe little secret place.

Well not your average lean-to - a bit of intersting archtecture in Vienna's 11th district.

Very elegant and beautiful shopping arcade in Nantes, France.

t is already cold season here in Doha, Qatar. Taken at the baywalk, we had a slight fog while I took this photo. It was the best time for me to capture what I had in mind from a certain movie that is similar to this. I think I captured what I had in mind all along. Could you name me a movie production poster similar to this? Thank you for viewing.

Manhattan is usually thought of as a super-modern business center with many skyscrapers, but there are also some old buildings here that are reminiscent of the Middle Ages in their architecture...
