The ornate carvings on the entrance to the temple are an interesting counterpoint to the clinical lines of most skyscrapers.

I forgot to switch to a backlit mode when shooting this, so the temple came out very dark. I got some detail back using the Shadow/Highlight tool, but at the cost of some increased grain :(.

Eatzycath's version is a definite must-see.

Château de la Rochepot is a castle in the Côte d'Or département in Burgundy, France. It lies near the town of Beaune (20 km).

The castle was built in the 13th century on an outcrop of limestone to the north of the village of La Rochepot. As with many "châteaux" it fell into ruin It was completely destroyed during the French revolution and was only restored in the 19th century by the Carnot family. The roofs, in the pure style of Burgundy, are adorned with geometrical patterns.

This pedestrian suspension bridge over the river Rhône was built in 1844 in Lyon.

Its name comes from the Ampère college and high school located in the city centre. Its construction permitted pupils and students to cross the river safely.
