Münster-Modell aus 160.000 Einzelteilen

Das Modell des Doberaner Münsters wurde im Maßstab 1:25, mit einer Länge von 3,60 m, einer Breite von 2,00 m und einer Höhe von 2,80 m errichtet. Der Grundkörper wurde aus witterungsbeständigem Kunststoffplatten gefertigt. Anschließend wurde die Fassade, entsprechend dem Original, gestaltet – in diesem Falle geklinkert. Hierzu werden handelsübliche Hartbrandfliesen in einzelne Steinchen geschnitten und dann nach authentischen Bildvorlagen aufgemauert. Diese Tätigkeit erfordert ein hohes Maß an Konzentration, Akribie und Geduld, Geduld, Geduld. Aus der großen Menge der gemauerten Steinchen erklärt sich auch das Gewicht des fertigen Modells – ca. 1 Tonne! Die Fenster werden aus Kunststoffglas gebaut und sind dann mit viel Liebe und Geduld handbemalt worden. Das Dach ist mit originalgetreuen Kupferplatten hergestellt worden, wobei die Konstruktion hierfür mehrfach überarbeitet und geändert werden musste.

Doberaner Münster

Das Doberaner Münster war bis zur Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts die Klosterkirche des Zisterzienser-Klosters Doberan. Es ist heute die Kirche der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirchengemeinde Bad Doberan in der Propstei Rostock im Kirchenkreis Mecklenburg der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Norddeutschland (Nordkirche).

Das Münster gehört zu den wichtigsten Hochgotischen Backsteinbauten im Ostseeraum entlang der Europäischen Route der Backsteingotik und wurde als Kandidat für die UNESCO-Welterbeliste vorgeschlagen.

I have always loved the miniature architectural models that are used to help sell condos and to show what new building will look like to the public. Life always looks perfect in these little miniature worlds.

This model here is for the new development that is happening up at Oakridge Centre in Vancouver, BC. The development includes several condo towers and an outdoor mall. The outdoor mall or plaza they are hopefully going to build over the next few years looks pretty neat and should be an interesting place to visit.

Das Stralsunder Rathaus zählt zu den schönsten Profanbauten der norddeutschen Backsteingotik. Es gehört zu den frühesten, noch erhaltenen Gebäuden der Stadt und war nicht nur Sitz des Rates und ein Ort der Rechtssprechung.

Es hatte eine Funktion als Versammlungsort, diente aber auch als sogenanntes "kophus", also Kauf- oder Schauhaus. In den unteren Räumen, in denen die Kaufleute ihre Waren anboten, herrschte ein lebendiges Treiben.

Das Gebäude wurde erstmals 1271 in den schriftlichen Quellen erwähnt. Die zwei durch ein Querhaus an der Badenstraße miteinander verbundenen Langhäuser und der 30 m x 60 m große Gewölbekeller zählen zu den ältesten Teilen des Rathauses. Um 1320 entstand ein Saalvorbau am Alten Markt, der nach Vorbild des Lübecker Rathauses mit einer Prunkfassade versehen wurde und der den Sitzungssaal des Rates (den sog. Löwenschen Saal) enthält. Erst durch diese Schauwand erhält das Rathaus sein repräsentatives Aussehen. Über den großen Fenstern deuten Wappen der Hansestädte Wismar, Lübeck, Hamburg, Greifswald, Stralsund und Rostock auf alte Seehandelsbeziehungen hin.

Last Saturday's walk around London took me back to some of my old haunts. There was the Bridge of Aspiration and then this, Thomas Schütte’s 'Model for a Hotel 2007', which sits on the fourth plinth at Trafalgar Square. This was taken at dusk - hence, the dark sky and the strongly lit panels, which came from nearby spotlights.

Revisiting some of these locations has been an interesting exercise to see if and how my style has changed over the last few months.

I wonder if the hotel was ever built???

Im 13. Jahrhundert begann auf einem künstlich angelegten Hügel direkt an der Elbe der Bau der Burg für die Grafen von Schwerin.

Im 14. / 15. Jahrhundert war die Hauptbauzeit, in dieser Zeit entstanden die bezinnte Ringmauer, der Wehrgang und das Tor im östlichen Mauerteil. Die Burg wurde von den Herzögen von Mecklenburg als Unterkunft bei Jagdausflügen genutzt. Heute befinden sich in der Burg ein Museum und eine Gaststätte.
