My Turn

Today I finally was a guest for the Moving Music podcast. I decided to do Blade Runner because of the huge impact it had on my 11 year old self and the bond it created between me and my sister.

Of course, Julie was pissed that I went to TC's house in this time of Coronavirus.

Earlier I stopped in at work to get my iPad and print off a few things. It's weird to be the only one in the building.

I had Jimmy John's for lunch. I have been wanting it since I ordered it for my Mom the day before yesterday.

Give Blood

Today Julie and I gave blood through Versiti for the first time. It was weird not donating through the Red Cross.

A simple title for a simple picture.

A picture of a large and wide city street and its immediate surroundings taken during rainy weather.

Due to the rainy season currently occurring where I live, I, unfortunately, may not be able to upload new content as often for the next few months. Nonetheless, I will still try my best to be active.

Wine Sangria Margarita

We went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. We shared a bottle of wine and had sangria margaritas at the end of our meal. Julie hadn't finished her wine so she poured it into her sangria margarita then didn't like it. I think she just wanted my sangria margarita since it looked better than hers. So we swapped and I finished hers.

I did a lot around the house today. I picked up dog poop, picked up leaves, and re-caulked Julie's tub.

We also had our second heart-to-heart

Through careful maneuvering, I was able to obtain this relatively clean and unobstructed view of the setting sun located in between two buildings.

Everything in balance and equilibrium.

As this swing set sits unused, the positions of its two swings were even and symmetrical to each other, in perfect balance and equilibrium.

Together with the calm weather at that time, this swing set seemingly even resembled a balancing scale.

Podcast Tuesday

Yes, we are recording a podcast on Christmas Eve. We are re-recording our second retrospective since the recording last week had such imbalanced levels between the two microphones. It also gave me a chance to catch up on the episodes we were reviewing. TC made margaritas.

After recording I ran all over the place trying to get food for Shay who was sick at home before picking up Julie. First he wanted Panera Bread; they were closed. Then he suggested Kroger but they closed at 6pm and it was around 6:15pm. Then he suggested Meijer but they closed at 7pm. I got to Meijer and bought him all the things he asked for then stood in incredibly long lines to buy it. And I still got Julie on time!

Beware

We did a bar crawl today.

Tidal Creek Brewhouse

Beaver Bar

Suck Bang Blow

Neal & Pam's

Scotty's Beach Bar

Neal & Pam's and Scotty's Beach Bar are Ric's normal Wednesday night stops.

Beaver Bar didn't have the shirts that we wanted. We had 1 beer at Beaver Bar then went to Suck Bang Blow. SBB had great shirts! We had 1 beer there as well. We ate dinner at Neal & Pam's.

Ice Bag

These are kind of hard to find!

Julie had her first rounds of Orthovisc shots in both knees today. She said the shots hurt like hell! She needs to ice her knees and only had one of these bags at home. We could not remember where we got the first bag. We tried Target first and found nothing. She called her Mom to see if she had any ice bags to lend us. Mother Mary had given hers away years ago to Bruce. We stopped at CVS and I found this one...exactly like our old one!

We had lunch at Borgata Pizza Cafe. It was the first time we ever ate there. It was great! We sat on the patio and Julie was able to put her legs up.

Tonight was my third gig with The Tim Farrel Band at Local Roots. Julie had JZ and Scott, Evan and Lori, and Joel Britt come. Annette & Chris were there with Chip & Pam and another couple! It was a great gig!

Mother's Day 2020

Physical Distance demonstration with my Mom on Mother's Day 2020.

I took my Mom City BBQ for lunch and helped her with her iPhone and brought some groceries in for her.

Alec & Kristina made seafood for Mother's Day. It was great!

Number 1

Back to Texas Roadhouse, but this time the Polaris location. The place was pretty empty and there was no real line but I guess they were waiting on servers to arrive so they gave us a pager and we had to wait. We could have just gone to the bar but we didn't.

When we got back home I went to work on songs for Friday. Julie interrupted me a few times to look for Garth Brooks tickets. Ken gave me the early ticket sale code for Rammstein so I ended up buying 6 tickets: Scott & Regina, Svetlana & Thomas, and Julie & I. Ken is firm about getting closer, more expensive tickets. Most of the good seats are gone but I got section 231, row 8 for the six of us at less than $100 per ticket before fees. Everyone was happy with that.

A quick snap of a narrow street from the top of a shopping mall's overpass.

As this narrow street was located in a less well-developed city area, contrary to what I would usually do, I decided not to clean up the picture, in order to maintain the authentic feel and character of the place.

Pride

It is Warmoth Wednesday so I thought I would post a picture of my blackout Soloist while wearing a Pride t-shirt from Piada.

The dogs met the guys on the corner today and were spoiled with treats and attention. So spoiled in fact, that they both pooped a few houses later and then Dharma staged a sit-in and refused to continue walking! It was around this time that my stomach started feeling weird. I ended the walk and turned the girls around and marched them back home.

It was Effort Load Wednesday but I felt horrible. I had to go to the bathroom then I laid down for about 15 minutes. I started feeling better and finished Effort Load. Then I went to Zoup! to get something of substance to calm my stomach down.

Dog Bed

We washed all the dog blankets and beds today since Julie gave the dogs baths. I stayed up until everything was dry so I could rebuild the beds.

We got McDonald's for lunch but made pasta for dinner.

Point & Shoot

I charged up the battery to my Canon point & shoot camera today. I thought maybe I should try a few pictures with it to get away from the phone so much.

Ric was in town so I met him, Rusty, and Scott at Classics before picking up Julie. I had Classic's meatball sub; it was also very good.

Stye

I have been using a hot compress on my eyes daily to see if I can get rid of my styes.

Almost Forgot!

I almost forgot to take a picture of myself today. I need to get back on the horse!

I did go into work today to load the off-cycle effort data. John was surprised to see me so I took tomorrow off and left when the effort load was done.

This is how the Bomb Boost kit comes. It looks like all of their JHS sourced pedal kits come in this box.

Goatee

The one day goatee. Julie and I talked about me going to a goatee while we drove out to Alec & Kristina's yesterday and she seemed to agree to it. So, this morning I trimmed my beard down and shaved a goatee in. When I picked her up from work she hit the roof and hated it. So, tomorrow I will shave clean and start over.

Jason and Tony came over today to jam.

Reflective

Tonight we had 4 Finger Shot rehearsal. It was a little rough but I think that is mainly because I was not very prepared.

This morning I had my permanent crown put on (tooth 20). They did not numb me for this and it got a little uncomfortable. The hygienist/assistant hurt me more than Dr. Butler did! He is a master!

I dropped off my Stingray to Dave Bush after my appointment. I had also taken the Charvel San Dimas to have him look at the switch. He took the back cover off and moved the wires around a bit and we couldn't replicate the problem. He also sprayed some contact cleaner in the switch. Basically, if it does it again I will just replace the switch.

I decided to try the Iron Grill Barbecue and Brew (formerly The Pig Iron) for lunch and I am glad I did. Although the brisket was not much to write home about, the steamed broccoli with garlic was amazing! They also have Yuengling Golden Pilsner 22oz for $2.50 all day every day, so...

I spend the rest of the day working on the songs I needed to have ready for tonight. Then I stopped at Buffalo Wings & Rings for dinner before rehearsal. I had not been there since December of 2015!
