No Sunscreen
Well, I put sunscreen everywhere other than my feet. I was wearing water shoes and figured they would protect me. I guess not!
We spent nearly 5 hours at the beach today.
Then we connected with Doug so we met him and Krista at Lobster House for dinner. We are going to the beach together tomorrow!
Buckeye Basketball Birthday
Today is Julie's 49th Birthday. Back in December I bought 4 tickets to an OSU Men's Basketball game for tonight's game against Illinois. It was either tonight or a date in February. Julie and I talked about it and she agreed to tonight's game even though it was her birthday.
We met Alec and Kristina at Carsonie's on Lane Ave, had dinner, parked at my work lot (since I didn't have my hang tag), and walked to the game. We got there about 30 minutes after tipoff. OSU won 71 - 63 which was nice.
At dinner, Alec and Kristina told us they are in contract on a house in Marysville. That took us by surprise and I think it hit Julie pretty hard.
For her birthday I got Julie a new Apple iPad Air. She was totally surprised.
I was pretty much in the dog house all day long since I was a bit of a jerk last night at JT's Pizza in front of KFos & Michele.

Mistake
Yep, I meant to make a mirror selfie but pressed the magic button too soon so I got a shot of the floor with me in the mirror.
This was another wasted Thursday.
Marne had her third surgery.
Julie went to CONCI.
We went to Texas Roadhouse.
Then we drank wine.
AMERICA
Mounted Guitars
I finally re-hung all of my electric guitars. This is a self-timer "family picture" of my with all my electric guitars. I could only get 15 mounted so one has to sit on a stand.
Thin the herd? I don't think so but who knows.
We went so Maggie's birthday dinner tonight. She works with Julie and didn't know a large group was taking her to dinner. It is the first time I have really felt old since nearly everyone at the party was in their twenties or early thirties. It was Maggie's 30th birthday. We went to her wedding earlier this year.
Wear Red Today
Today was National Wear Red day for the American Heart Association. I don't think I look good in red but decided to play along since I myself have had some heart issues. But, in retrospect, I am not sure I picked the right color long sleeve tshirt to wear under this heart walk shirt.
Rehearsal
Another Distorted Silence rehearsal with Josh. I love playing with him. We are getting ready for Saturday's show at Finnegan's Wake.
Today I went to Kohl's to get replacement flip-flops but ended up getting the flip-flops, jeans, shorts, and a t-shirt!
It was another Steak Day.
The cloudy morning sky, a contest between the sun and the clouds, seemed to give this picture a mysterious quality.

Chucks
Driving back from Detroit we stopped in Toledo for lunch. While sitting at the table I realized Kristina, Julie, and I were all wearing Chuck Taylors.
Blue Eyes Waiting
Julie is getting her haircut so I am waiting in the parking lot.
While I was waiting I started getting text messages from Lynne saying that an arrest warrant had been issued for Tony. Evidently he was supposed to play the Liberty Station Sports Bar (close to Lazy Chameleon) tonight and they were going to arrest him at the gig. He must have gotten the news so he canceled the gig. I can't believe it is finally happening. That fucker can rot in Hell.
When Julie was done we went to meet the kids for dinner at The Pint Room.
What do moving dark clouds in the sky tell us? Is it the beginning of something wonderful, the calm before the storm, or an ominous sign of things to come?

St. Patrick's Day 2020
Well, this is weird. It's St. Patrick's Day and we can't go anywhere and I don't have a gig. This Coronavirus (COVID-19) ridiculousness is out of control.
Julie clearly wanted to do something for St. Patrick's. Above all she wanted draft beer. We decided on getting JT's pizza and I was hoping they would offer growlers from their bar area. It was closed so I thought maybe we could stop at Savor Pint by our house for a growler or two. Savor Pint was open but the girl "was not a bartender" and unable to pour us a growler. However, Savor Growl is related to Savor Pint and they were open and could probably pour growlers. So we went there and got a growler with Zaftig Hazy Miss Daisy IPA and a growler with Barley's Pilsner.
Julie got her draft beer and we had a fun St. Patrick's Day after all. Even if we were homebound.
A relatively new carnival attraction located by the bayside that seemed to attract a lot of people.

Podcasting
This shirt really brings out my eyes.
Today we finished Jimmy King's interview for the Moving Music Podcast. He had to come back because during our first interview the SD card filled up and we lost the last 35 minutes or so of the interview. I had to leave so I put in a new card and started recording but must have done something wrong because I got nearly an hour of silence on three tracks! So, we had to reschedule for today because of me. Jimmy was about an hour late due to oversleeping but we got it done and it was really good. This is me at the start of the session after plugging in the mics and getting the machine ready.
Cabernet Sauvignon makes the world a better place.
When I got home I took Julie to Fujiyama for Randi Hedges birthday. It was a good time! Julie was apprehensive because she didn't know many of the people there but she was glad she went when it was over. Like normal.

Before
Julie cut my hair and trimmed my beard today. The last haircut of the year, last haircut of the decade!
We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse then just stayed in for New Year's Eve. Thrilling.
Staying Cool
Still no fever. Still not sick. Still shut in.
Harper woke us up around 6am by vomiting everywhere. She was terribly sick. Her puke smelled like feces so we were alarmed. By the end of the day she was back to normal but we are still being cautious.
I worked on more of Speed Kills volume 1. I like the finger exercises and the Django-like lick.
I also replaced the Duncan Distortion Trembucker in my Warmoth Soloist with a Duncan Custom 5 Trembucker.
Holiday Party
It was KFos & Michele's annual holiday party today. Once again I brought my acoustic guitar and a little sound system and entertained the group. We didn't get to crazy so we didn't have to crash.
That is Rizzo with me and Julie.
Earlier in the day I washed the GTI. Jeff Zackany was at the car wash!
Faded
The Pearl White finish on my 1987 Charvel Model 3A has "faded" to a butter yellow in its over 30 year life. Also, the satin finished neck has worn to gloss similar to my 1988 American Standard Stratocaster. I think that is funny when I see all these satin finished guitars that seem popular now. I would guess they will have a strangely spotty glossy pattern with use and age. Stupid.
Julie had a doctor appointment at 2pm today. Her right knee has been bothering her after riding her Nordic Track bike two days in a row. The doctor said she has arthritis in her right knee and gave her a cortisone shot.
I mowed the lawn today. I beat the rain that came over night and is supposed to be around for the next three days.
2nd Amendment
I did everything Dr. Butler said but I must have put too much cement on the tooth because it isn't sitting right and now my bite is off. He said he could see me May 11th so I am going to make this work.
Julie's NordicTrack showed up today.
I picked up the Smith & Wesson Performance Center M&P 9 M2.0 Ported 5" Barrel & Slide C.O.R.E. (SKU 11833) pistol today from Vance's Outdoors that I bought last Thursday. My scheduled pickup appointment was 3:30pm. I tried a Beretta 92FS also but decided to stay with the M&P. The grip on the Beretta was kind of chunky plus I wanted an American made gun. I also bought a box of 9mm target ammo. The Obetz store is incredible.
Julie worked another "16" today so I picked her up around 10:30pm instead of the normal 7:30pm.
