The goal was to take photos of each course. It was just too good, we kept eating the food before the photo was taken.

 

It was a set menu and we thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Especially the healthy mousse that sounded like it might be made something like suggested here:

Went out to dinner for Kelli's birthday. They did a really neat presentation with the shrimp cocktail with dry ice dissolving below the glass. Very nifty.

Since we've seen dessert I guess we'll take a look at the appetizer. This was the show before the show so to speak and it was supplied for free. No tax dollars were used ;)

Great Kiskadee

Scientific name: Pitangus sulphuratus - (Linnaeus, 1766)

Portuguese: Bem-te-vi

 

The great kiskadee is a common, noisy and conspicuous bird. It hunts like a flycatcher, waiting on an open perch high in a tree to sally out and catch insects in flight. It also pounces upon rodents and similar small vertebrates.
