Near the Universitat Heidelberg Physikalisches Institut , there was a small beekeeping apiary. There was a mural that explained the benefits of the honey bee and at the very end was a stack of small jars of the local honey produced. What was unique about it was that there was no attendant in sight, simply a sign stating that if one wanted a jar of honey, to take it and leave a 5 Euro.

Louie Kelbert from Kel-Bee Apiaries has been beekeeping and producing honey since he was nine years of age. He is passionate about nature and his bees.

You can find Nick at the EQ Growers' Market in Moore Park in Sydney each Wednesday. Read about his passion here: www.illawarramercury.com.au/news/local/news/general/stung... and here www.beehives.com.au/bee-hives-articles/2008/2/27/beekeepi...

This spellbinding, romantic journey begins with a simple encounter between a man and a woman. But what happens next defies the boundaries of the world we think we know delving into the infinite possibilities of their relationship and raising questions about the difference between choice and destiny. Imagine: What if everything you’ve ever done exists along with everything you’ve never done?

This must have been the fourth time I've seen Lee Gamble play, almost always by accident (or because my friends dragged me along); he's always very good, and always seems to do new things. This time was particularly excellent: a long drone/noise set slowly morphing into a stripped-down and dysfunctionally noisy killer acid track.

Residents from The Apiary in Bretherton are buzzing with delight at news that they have succeeded in a bid for a green grant from Chorley Community Housing (CCH). The group has used the award of £250 to provide a new seating area for residents, with CCH staff helping in the makeover.

CCH’s Green Grants programme is available to residents’ groups who want a small amount of money to tidy up a grot spot. The residents’ association from The Apiary bid for monies from CCH with the help of Rebecca West, their Neighbourhood Officer.

Michael Hiley from The Apiary’s residents group said: “We managed to buy some evergreen trees, an assortment of potted plants, baskets and an extra garden seat. We relocated a garden seat and made an extra flagged path for the benefit of the residents. I’d like to thank Rebecca and her team for their help in completing the project.”

Rebecca West, Neighbourhood Officer, said: “The Green Grant programme is available to all residents’ groups as a way of brightening up their estate and it doesn’t take a lot of money to make a big impression.”

Richard Houghton, Director of Operations for CCH, said: “In the financial year 2010/11, CCH plans to award more than £80,000 in grants to help communities improve the borough of Chorley. Small awards like this enable groups of residents to do something that enhances people’s sense of ownership of their neighbourhood.”
