Just west of Tucson, AZ. It's a very sharp picture. :o)
As commented below, these cacti do not even grow their first arm until they are 70 years old!!!!
I found one north of Casa Grande, AZ that was over 30 feet tall and working on it's third tier of arms! It was as wide around as an Oak tree.
Many of these are between 7-14 feet high.

¿Cómo y por qué las abejas colectan Polen?
La abeja colecta el polen de las flores, que se adhiere a los pelos de su cuerpo cuando en contacto con los estambres, cepillándose con los "peines tibiales" y aglutinando los granos en "pelotas" o gránulos, que son transportados en las pequeñas curvaturas de las patas posteriores.
Los transporta a la colmena, donde es depositado en los alveolos de los panales, siendo comprimido por la cabeza de las abejas obreras, para obtener una masa compacta. Esa masa sufre transformaciones, no sólo por el alto índice de humedad y de temperatura interna de la colmena, que gira en torno de 35ºC, mas también por la acción de secreciones salivales de las abejas, ricas en enzimas, y mezcladas con néctar.
Al término de estas transformaciones esta masa es denominada "pan de las abejas".
Este "pan de las abejas" es por ellas utilizado como alimento proteico desde el período larval hasta el fin de su vida adulta.
El polen es colectado por Apis mellifera a temperaturas de 8º a 11ºC, pero a mayores temperaturas la condición se reduce significativamente, ahora bien, cuando la velocidad del viento está por encima de 17 Km/h la actividad de pecoreo de polen es moderada y cesa a 33.8 Km/ h. Mas aun cuando la humedad relativa.

I volontari di Greenpeace hanno organizzato oggi attività di sensibilizzazione in 21 città italiane per chiedere il bando dei pesticidi dannosi per api e altri impollinatori, l’estensione del bando europeo ai neonicotinoidi e investimenti in pratiche agricole sostenibili. Indossando dei costumi, i volontari dell’organizzazione ambientalista hanno inoltre rappresentato le api costrette a lasciare il loro habitat naturale per colpa dei pesticidi che mettono a rischio la loro sopravvivenza.
