Well it was blank. Before I wrote on the blank sheet of paper. Dayum. That's my 365 image screwed for today. Humph.
Ok, this has nothing in common with photography (I guess). So, don't look at it :-D
We worked on that problem for some weeks. Here's the real experiment. The »Screenshot« above shows the velocity field of a moving (rotating) fluid. It was computed with Ansys CFX. The underlying phenomenon is called baroclinic instability (isobars and isotherms "cross" each other). High atmospheric baroclinity is characterized by formation of cyclones.

So this evening at 6.00pm on 21st May 2011, nothing happened, as predicted.
I was happily awaiting the 12 course meal to start at the surprise engagement party/banquet held at a Thai restaurant I randomly found on Thursday a few days ago. There were 30 of us all in that room. All of us arrived together. All of us departed together.
As expected, Judgement day / Doomsday did NOT happen. Didn’t feel any earthquakes [and boy are we used to those here in Taiwan, we get them regularly!] Nobody got swept away. Not even my pastor and his family [who was at the party/banquet tonight!]
These things can *never never never* be predicted. It says so in the bible. Even Jesus didn’t know. Only the Father, i.e. God. It’ll come when we all least expect it!
Yes Jesus will come again. Yes, there will be judgement. But it’s just not today, May 21st 2011. It’s coming soon. Just not today. People got it so wrong. So very wrong.
In the mean times, I’ll just enjoy my book “Left Behind”. It’s a novel [long book series] of the earth’s last days... Quite fitting really. lol.

Ежегодное проведение фестиваля электронной музыки и технологий требует грандиозной подготовки, особенно если принять во внимание, что посетить его собирается 50 000 человек. Еще бы, ведь сюда приедут музыканты и диджеи со всего мира, такие как Deadmau5, Paul van Dyk, Steve Angello, проект Knife Party, Sander van Doorn, Infected Mushroom, Underworld и многие другие. Но музыкой программа не исчерпывается: 3D печать, электромобили и скутеры, робо-шоу и многое другое ждет техноманов. Любители анимэ будут рады фестивалю косплея СтарКон. Спортсмены смогут сыграть в американский футбол, волейбол и баскетбол, посетить мастер-классы по тренировкам.
Во-первых, требуется соорудить шатры для тематических экспозиций.
Во-вторых, обеспечить гостей и работников связью. Билайн реализовал самую большую WiFi сеть на открытом воздухе. Кроме непосредственно интернета для гостей была так же нарощена мощность, и размещены дополнительные базовые станции. Это позволит оставаться на связи. Также связь Билайна будет обеспечивать проведение операций бесконтактных платежей и функционирование банкоматов.
В-третьих, обеспечить безопасность отдыха.
В-четвертых, обеспечить всех питанием
и туалетами В-пятых, обеспечить безналичные платежи. Для этого будут использоваться браслеты участников, которые можно пополнять через банкоматы одним прикосновением:
Для перемещения по полю сотрудники используют квадроциклы. Грязно после дождя.
Поднявшись по недостроенной лестнице увидим приготовления детальнее. Главная сцена содержит сложную светодиодную систему управляемой подсветки. Каждая точка управляется отдельно. Здесь рабочие заканчивают монтаж. Присмотревшись наблюдаем множество светодиодов, меняющих цвет. Что касается второй сцены, то она расположена фактически на острове между небольшой речкой и Волгой Добраться до нее можно по мосту, созданному из тех же рамчатых конструкций, что и сцены. В этом году его было решено сделать шире. Здесь также предлагаются шатры с вкусняшками.
А что же вокруг? Красивые зеленые берега. Как уже отмечалось, Волга, с кораблями Большое Козино с церковью: А вот и еще одна базовая станция технического партнера фестиваля. Кстати, кроме услуг связи компания разметила пункты мобильной подзарядки для гаджетов и кинотеатр под открытым небом.

Повода грустить из-за закрытия сервиса нет: функционал будет полностью сохранен и перенесен в Google Maps, разве что исчезнет социальная составляющая.

Yesterday at Youth Group I went round collecting questions from all the kids to put in our "Questions" box.
Today I opened the box and read through them all. Despite the usual "Does God even exist?" question; there's some pretty awesome questions in there. For instance:
"Are there different races in heaven?", or stuff like "Can there be saved gay Christians? Can you be a Christian and still be gay?" and an awesome question, which I can't wait to hear the answer to "How did Adam and Eve learn to speak?"
We're going to have a Question Panel time next week at Youth Group. It's going to be rather interesting :) Of course I'm not sat on the panel. I'm the person MC-ing it all and asking the questions on behalf of the kids.
But I love reading these questions. It's amazing how all the kids think.
I like being a youth worker.
Traditionally, every year before the New Years Eve, or Chinese New Years Eve, our whole household goes nutzo and we start cleaning, hoovering, scrubbing and all sorts. Just before the start of the new year, as a symbol of getting rid of all bad stuff. Not that I'm superstitious. But just as a symbol though right?
I'm not here this evening because I'm working (albeit they'll be cleaning and scrubbing tonight, like all average chinese folks!) But I know later on here at home mum will go nutzo and start doing rubbish.
And so to help out and do my fair share (being as I'm the only daughter left still living at home, and my brother doesn't do much) I hoovered for her already. Oh and tidied my bedroom too. (It's tidier! Hahaha).
Monday Monday. The British weather is so grim. Glad I don't work mornings. But still, tonight will be just as grim as I turn up for work :(
Couldn't really think of anything to do. I'd already did a shot with me reading Harry Potter yesterday. [Although, seriously, that is all I've been doing lately, reading...]
So here's a shot of me taking my daily caffeine fix [although I lie, I don't drink caffeine as much as I used to, back in my youthful-hey-day's, cos I'm more health-conscious now---she says].
And wow. Finally on day 50!
And to be frank with you, starting to find it hard to think of more ideas now.... eeek...
ps, I now have CS3 on my laptop!!!! yay! Gone are the days that I need to wait for the ancient mother-ship computer load, and pray that the ancient-photoshop version 7 would stop crashing! yay!

I went shopping exploring on the Saturday. With a bottle of water, camera, mobile/cell phone, map, and your average survival kit, I set off.
And I went to the main down-down-town area [I am kinda down town, in the city, but not the main massive down town area].
It's not amazingly busy. But shops are scattered everywhere.
But to my amazement I found the young-people's-shops all on one street.
The traditional-country-style-food on several streets [stalls upon stalls upon stalls of food places].
And then finally, I found the electronics street.
I spent a long long time on the electronics street. It was kinda long. Shops were spaced out and scattered. But it was completely awesome.
Why? Because the majority of the stuff they were selling was so darn cheap. So it was a matter of not the money, but rather, the things being of good worth and worth buying...!
Well it's cheap because some of the stuff were made locally. And it's cheap because a lot of the time I'm comparing it to back home in the UK where inflation is high, and whereby everyone back at home is hating the nation as everyone is heading towards recession.
So yeh.
Anyway. I was in electronic heaven. But not really. As a lot of the time the staff couldn't speak much English, so I let a lot of the stuff do the talking.
I didn't buy much. But I went and got a nice set of Carbon Fiber :)
So yeeeeeh....
In this picture, it's a multi-plug. Comes in handy.
And also my adapter converter thing. That was the first electronic equipment device I purchased upon arrival, as I needed to use my laptop and needed to plug in to use electricity. So there we have it. The plug system....
But yeh... I'm sooo glad I'm in this country. Oh the gadgets oh the electronic devices. But oh dear.... I aint gunna go in debt again due to over-spending on gadgets. No way Jose!

For the past couple of days I've noticed how happy I've been. Like really bizarrely happy. At first I didn't really know why. I was just walking to work on Thursday with this huge big fat grin, walking carefree and happy. Walked past a lady walking her dog and toddlers, she smiled at me, and that was urberly nice. So I too smiled back.
But I found it strange to be really happy. And it was only yesterday did I notice a pattern. And then again when I woke up today.
It's the sunshine :)
I know for a fact it's the sunshine. Mainly because these past few days have been sunny, and therefore I've been in such a beautifully good mood. Even though I've had to work for the past 2 evenings [and tonight]. But still I've been in a jolly good mood! Even passing on the smiles to the work-people.
It's almost like the dark cloud that's usually above my head has been swept away for some strange reason. And I love it :)
Also, even the most depressive songs that get played don't seem to have an effect on me. If anything, it makes me think of happy thoughts :)
And singleness? Haha. love it. And for the first time in months, I've stopped wallowing in self-pity and have stopped thinking about H.

I honestly felt a cross between:
- a walking zombie - due to lack of sleep.
- an emotional wreck - just because. Or maybe also due to lack of sleep.
- a woman-who-craves-for-a-cuppa-tea. Yup. the habit started beginning August... ><
- someone who really needed to brush her teeth due to "accidentally" forgetting the night before. Mel did too. And she totally understood. My teeth [and hers] didn't feel very nice, even after brushing it the following morning.
- an annoyed ansy who was annoyed because ivy had to go off to work and therefore wasn't in this shot :(
- ladies who lunch. or lunching ladies... hahah like the ladies in hollywood.. you know the ones... Paris and co. they go out to lunch after a late night, which is lunch but breakfast... so technically brunch... but they are awesome ladies cos they're loaded, dont need to work, and they lunch....! haha i lunched with my ladies. only ivy had to go early... so she had a quickie lunch... :( but the bangers and mash were lovely :)
- a rock star: due to wearing the same clothes as yesterday!!! ie... have been up all night!!!
Yeh. After Sunday's gathering, a few of us girlies figured it'd only get better if we had a sleep over. And a sleep over we had...! Only a few of us because we wanted to have "deep and meaningful conversations". Only Teresa and Ivy fell asleep, while Mel and I tried to make sense of "St Trinian" the movie [load of rubbish], and then we both had DMC until about 5ish in the morning...! haha...
Anyway... I hart my girlies.
The restaurant that is mentioned several times in the show is still there serving up great meals at a great price. Ansy went here many times to eat and the same people are still running diner.

Sorry for the late entry. I didn't have time to upload it because I spent longer than I anticipated doing this floral arrangement! Just when I had finished it, I had 15 minutes spare, just in time to get ready for work. And then off to work I went, now back from work [I finish work at mid-night :( ] then after a shower am free to upload yay :)
So I took a few shots throughout my little floral arranging this afternoon. It's for church tomorrow [that's Sunday], and well, this is one of the two offerings [this one being real, the other one just a creative little thing with autumn leaves etc]... that will be put at the front to make the church hall pretty[er].
It's nothing special. But it's the first one I've made since... well... uhm... since Hera left UK :( I haven't had the chance to do so for years.... And this was one thing Renee taught me 5 years ago too...
Let's just pray it stays alive for the service, and not to mention upright [note the slight slant.... it's a bit dodgy... eeek]
There's just not enough hours in the day! ha. Now off to bed!

I've been "trying" to drink more water since arriving here. But I personally don't think I've been drinking enough, compared to my normal standards of when I was back at home. I drink liquid alright, but not enough of the water liquid type of substance. So that sucks.
My excuse is, it's because I don't have a flask. I left it in my mum's luggage :( So it'll be a while before I get reunited with my flask. I'm tempted to buy one quickly so that I no longer have the excuse of not taking a water bottle out with me.
Anyway...
The water here IS safe. If anything, really really good. The whole country has really good water. They spend so much money filtering the water. Yet sadly the water isn't that safe to drink mainly because some of the building pipes are baaad.
Alas, I don't touch the taps. I mainly touch the bottled purchased stuff instead. We have a massive MASSIVE tank of water to drink [seriously... not a single floating speck in the water!] I'm getting used to room temperature water here [which means it's actually warmish.. not good when you wanna cool down!] but I shouldn't complain.
Water is a life saver, and we should be grateful for having CLEAN water on a daily basis. Something we all take for granted. I don't think we thank God enough for water to drink.
Ok. So my aim is to drink MORE water :) oh and to thank God for it every time I drink the stuff. It's awesome :)

С тех времен, когда телефон был просто телефоном, человеку надо было передавать информацию. Причем не обязательно моментально, так появились автоответчики. Когда стало неудобно говорить появились смс. Конечно это все было давно, однако основные формы общения это текст и голос. Иногда зачем-то выделяют видео, но реальная необходимость в видео трансляции весьма редка. Вместо телефона появились компьютеры, смартфоны и планшеты. Изменился канал, но не способы.
А что еще?
Как таковых способов общения больше нет. Какие же инновации можно предложить? На самом деле кое что можно добавить:
конференция (как текстовая, так и голосовая)
обмен файлами
голосовое письмо (PTT, рация)
видео
Групповое общение вообще говоря возможно с помощью телефона, тут вопрос только в бесплатности. Обмен файлами так же пришел из прошлого: email. Пожалуй в пояснении нуждается только 3 пункт. Идея заключается в том, что соединение бывает не очень стабильным. Разговор по нему некомфортен, в таком случае записывается звуковой файл и отправляется.
Зачем видео
Соединить звук и видео для общения пришло в голову телевидению. Репортеры, находящиеся вне студии общаются по видеоканалу. Какой в этом смысл? Они ведут репортаж, задача показать окружающую обстановку. Смысла же в общении по видео без необходимости демонстрации чего-либо попросту отсутствует. В некоторых случаях из-за медленного соединения связь и попросту может прерываться. Полезным применением стала возможность демонстрировать содержимое своего экрана для обсуждения контента, обучения, совместной работы.
Разнообразие
Выбор и конкуренция вещи хорошие, во всяком случае нас в этом пытаются отовсюду убеждать. Но каков смысл в одинаковых продуктах? Сегодня владелец смартфона рискует оказаться в непростом положении: мессенджером слишком много. Казалось бы, широта выбора должна радовать, но есть важное уточнение-различия между десятками программ практически отсутствуют. Функционал здесь и не может быть другим, но разве стоит создавать программу из-за немного других смайликов и иного оформления окна? К сожалению авторы таких чатов не задумываются об удобстве пользователей и городят каждый свой огород. Связи между разными мессенджерами нет, как это было во времена популярности ICQ. Тогда каждый выбирал себе программу, но общаться могли все со всеми.
Проблема выбора
Как выбрать из одинакового? Это не настолько простая задача, как может показаться. Вообще говоря, здесь распределение будет примерно равным. Так и получилось с мессенджерами: собрать свои контакты в любом из них невозможно. Для более или менее полного покрытия потребуется скачать целый зоопарк и держать его запущенным, что будет тратить заряд, греть телефон и забивать память.
Но есть же революционеры?
На сегодняшний день стоит отметить Skype как наиболее распространенный выбор. Он обладает упомянутым функционалом и предложен под разные платформы. Причиной этого логично считать время выхода на рынок. Отдельно следует отметить интернет рацию Zello, она реализует общение в формате Push to Talk, что удобно для нестабильного интернета, когда разговор в режиме реального времени мог бы икать и прерываться. Мессенджер TOX реализует функционал skype и большинства его аналогов, обеспечивая при этом максимальную безопасность (за счет шифрования, а так же прямых соединений между участниками, без централизованного сервера, как у скайпа, где может осуществляться перехват). У него есть клиенты под различные ОС, однако в настоящий момент его аудитория невелика и состоит в основном из гиков и ITшников. Мой личный опыт показывает, что если предложить его совершенно далекому от технологий человеку, то он сможет освоить токс без труда.
Вместо вывода
Наверняка дойдя до сюда, можно подумать, что целью автора была реклама TOX. Во-первых, в этом нет смысла, так как вряд ли удастся переманить в него людей, чьих друзей там нет, во-вторых, информация о криптомессенджере уже была анонсирована, так как мой выбор этого средства связи вполне успешен, в-третьих не смотря на радикальные преимущества, такой призыв вполне способен вылиться в ситуацию, известную по следующему изображению что совершенно не является целью. Посмотрев на все это разнообразие хочется все же универсальности, а не очередной гонки среди одинаковых конкурентов. Самым удобным вариантом становится телефон, учитывая существенное снижение цен на мобильную связь, наличие устройств, поддерживающих ее у всех, а у некоторых и в нескольких экземплярах, этот метод связи может оказаться самым универсальным, быстрым, и, в конечном итоге надежным.
