This is a what you might call a deep zoom just at a point at which the image starts to break up into pixels of rapidly growing size. I don't know if this is normal behavior at a certain level or if it is caused by something. The Mandelbulb forum has yet to respond to my inquiry so I don't know where to go to find out The odd lighting is from a Miro texture file

Yes it's another portrait of a boy... but I do have quite a few of them running about.

NIKON D700 with TAMRON SP AF 17-35mm F/2.8-4 Di LD
I had been watching this little teapot for about three weeks. Maybe four. It was sitting in a second hand store in Rockford. I opened the box and (probably) hopped up and down because of the turtle buddies on the top. I didn't initially purchase it because the top had been broken and re-glued.
I had gone back twice, and it was still sitting on the shelf but more to the back as new stuff came in. It looked like a few people had done the same thing I had done: "Oh cool!! Oh man, it's been broken!" and stuffed it back on the shelf.
Of course, I stopped and looked again and realized - gee, I'm probably not ever going to use it. It will sit on a shelf and I will smile each time I see it because of the turtles on top of the lid. It came home with me that day. This morning, I took pictures of it for the first time.
