Bay Window

We are able to supply all windows in the range as a bay window. We can also provide bow windows (a curved bay window). Our bay windows are provided with internal and external trims, ensuring a high quality finish when installed.

MSCED 05/07/09 (Day 33): I don't know why but I find angle gradients really sexy.

These were printed out as part of a mini weekend project. Will post up the finished piece (if successful).

1) I chose this photo because there's nothing pretty about it, it almost looks gross. I love that it's so real though, my dad and I are big on leftovers, and this is a dinner we have eaten often. This photo fits the angle requirement because it's not taken from eye level, but from me standing on a stool next to our counter.

2) I took this photo using a Nikon L310, I used the auto setting which resulted in a fairly large aperture of f/3.2 to let in enough light. The shutter speed of 1/30 was fairly slow, also trying to let in more light.

3) When I edited this photo I began by cropping it to show less empty counter space, and then I lowered the brightness very slightly to make the counter less shiny under the fluorescent lights in my kitchen. Next I increased the saturation a touch just to make the yellows in the tea cup & mustard bottle more noticeable. My final edit was a small decrease in the vibrancy of the photo so it looked the right amount of grimy and not over saturated.

4) A challenge I encountered while taking this photo was that my subject/father wouldn't hold still, and he was fairly impatient because he wanted to eat his bratwurst. A decision I made was to stand on a stool and take the photo directly from above to capture all the different elements on and around the counter.

Scandal and tragedy rock the feline world at the Bailey household. Tigger Bailey of Goodman, Mo., had been missing for several weeks after an incestual relationship with sister Possum that resulted in pregnancy. Tigger was found dead on Sorrell Road on March 5, according to inside sources. Shown here, Possum contemplates single motherhood and the increased risk of birth defects for her unborn first litter.

Wide angle vista (or as wide as I can get with a 14-54 lens, 4/3 system) of the Coral Gardens dive site in Dominica

These lures are quite a bit more challenging than the jigs I posted last night because of the reflective spinner blades. The problem that I've tried to solve is to show the color of the non-painted blades (silver or gold) without blowing them out or seeing my fat head/camera in the reflection. I also wanted to have a little bit of a catchlight in the blades to show that they are not flat. I've had several professional product photographers give me pointers on what the resulting image should be and I've followed most and thrown out a few. I'm pretty happy with the results here but the most important thing is that my client is happy with them. There are a couple of things I'd like to improve when I have my next round but I think I have this setup pretty close to what I need to make my client happy.

Dutch Angle Directive. I walked Main St. in Buford, GA. Every 12-20 paces I stopped and took a single shot using a Dutch Angle. I alternated the angle from shot to shot. I later did a colour effect in Photoshop. Otherwise the images are unedited and uncropped.

"A Dutch angle is achieved by tilting the camera off to the side so that the shot is composed with vertical lines at an angle to the side of the frame. Many Dutch angles are static shots."
