A Northern Gannet shown from another angle. These birds have a very expressive appearance - this for example is what they show each other when they want to impress - before they attack or dance, depends who is watching: another male or a beautiful gannet lady.

And: I don't like Comment-Codes, "awards", or such groups. They will be deleted. Explanation at my profile. Also please don't post pictures in the commenting-area. You could post them much better in your own photo stream. Your own words will mean much more to me than a universal-text. ;-D

The colors play a funny game. It was all red and orange. Then a slight change of an angle and it went yellow. It was amazing to go through all this tunnels, through the deep fog, without the slightest glimpse of civilisation anywhere...

This photo is somewhat similar to another of my photos from that hike but I've decided I still feel it has several merits that make it worth display in its own right.

Posted for the Macro Mondays theme "Dutch Angle".

An "Iconic View" with Sydney Opera House in the background - a triumph of modern architecture, rare engineering and a marvel born out of innovation, creativity and controversy.

Back to the town of Gibsons and the marina below the overpass. I was looking for something to express simplicity, one that evokes a notion of straightforwardness. The area is strewn with vessels of various sizes, types, and purpose, so that meant finding a scene that could separate distractions.

This shot serves to illustrate the fixation we can have on the moment. That feeling of an uncluttered view as represented by a scene devoid of what is unnecessary. Photographycoach.ca

Inspired by Macro Mondays. A Dutch angle: spirit level, bubble level, or simply a level, is an instrument designed to indicate whether a surface is horizontal (level) or vertical (plumb).

Purchased long ago for photography.

A beautiful moment of sun rays breaking through clouds, often referred to as crepuscular rays or sunbeams, when the sun's angle allows for a more dramatic display of light and shadow.

The sun's light streams downwards, creating a striking visual effect against the backdrop of a cloudy sky. In the foreground, the silhouettes of palm trees and other foliage are visible, adding depth to the composition.

Crepuscular rays, are visibly breaking through a gap in the clouds, creating a striking visual effect as they illuminate parts of the sky and the landscape below.

Shot from Dahab during the “golden hour", before sunset.

The combination of the sun's rays, the cloud formations, and the natural elements represents a serene and dramatic atmospheric condition, typical of twilight hours. This time of day offers a magical mix of natural light in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

This old elevator building has been since transformed and actually was in a bright orange color but I was more intrigued by the light and shadow and pattern angles created and saw the B&W opportunity.
